Disney+ Original “Behind The Attraction” Returning For A Third Season

It’s been almost three years since the last season of the Disney+ Original series, “Behind The Attraction”, arrived on the streaming service.

“Behind the Attraction” takes you on a ride behind Disney Parks’ most iconic and beloved attractions. Explore how the Haunted Mansion was filled with 999 happy haunts. When did the Pirates of the Caribbean set sail for Anaheim? How was The Twilight Zone Tower of TerrorTM transformed into Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!? What’s an EPCOT? Meet the Imagineers behind these attractions, as well as the Cast Members who operate them. From Jungle Cruise to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and beyond, Disney parks have amazed millions – and this is the story of how they did it.

After a many-year hiatus, the show is returning for a special two-episode third season, where viewers will head to the high seas with Disney Cruise Line!

This two-episode special goes behind the magic of the fleet that first set sail in 1998. See the island destinations for yourself and how the ships inspired by beloved Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars stories came to life! Explore the making of the Disney Destiny, the fleet’s heroes‑and‑villains–inspired ship. From early Imagineering ideas to unforgettable guest experiences, discover how Disney transformed the cruise experience with signature service and dazzling entertainment.

Both episodes of the third season of “Behind The Attraction” will be released on Disney+ around the world on June 24th 2026.  The previous two seasons are also available to stream on Disney+.

Roger’s Take:  There have been many original shows unofficially “cancelled” or on “hiatus” following a shift in focusing on profitability over subscription numbers, resulting in a drastic reduction in the amount of originals created.   Shows like “Behind The Attraction” are a unique type of show, because Netflix, Amazon and Apple don’t have the same business ecosystem of theme parks and experiences making up the core of their income.  “Behind The Attraction” works on a completely different level, in that it helps advertise other areas of Disney’s global empire.

As someone who literally got off a Disney Cruise this weekend and is looking to go on the “Destiny” ship at some point in the future, this show is a must-watch for me and, no doubt, for many other DCL fans.  Hopefully, we see more of these types of shows in the future for other new attractions like “Cosmic Rewind” or the other new cruise ships, Adventure and Believe.
