When Is “Avatar: Fire and Ash” Coming To Disney+?

After the massive box office success of “Avatar” and “Avatar: The Way Of Water”, this Christmas will see the release of the third film in the epic franchise, “Avatar: Fire and Ash”.

In this new movie, James Cameron takes audiences back to Pandora in an immersive new adventure with Marine turned Na’vi leader Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), Na’vi warrior Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña), and the Sully family.

“Avatar: Fire and Ash” has been written by James Cameron & Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver, and a story by James Cameron & Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver & Josh Friedman & Shane Salerno, also stars Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Oona Chaplin, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, David Thewlis, Jemaine Clement, Giovanni Ribisi, Britain Dalton, Jamie Flatters, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, Jack Champion, Brendan Cowell, Bailey Bass, Filip Geljo, Duane Evans, Jr., and Kate Winslet.

When Is “Avatar: Fire and Ash” Released?

“Avatar: Fire and Ash” is being released exclusively in cinemas on December 19th 2025.

When Will “Avatar: Fire and Ash” Be On Disney+?

Currently, no official Disney+ release date has yet been announced.

While most new releases from other major Disney movie studios, such as 20th Century Studios, usually are made available on Disney+ at least 100 days after their initial theatrical release. However, the “Avatar” films are unique, as they are massive box office juggernauts that spend much longer in cinemas than normal, since they are very expensive movies to make and Disney tries to make as much money as they can, not just in cinemas, but also on premium digital rentals and purchases.

The last film, “Avatar: The Way Of Water”, wasn’t made available on Disney+ until almost six months after its initial theatrical release. I would be very surprised if the third instalment in the franchise doesn’t follow the same path and won’t arrive on Disney+ until the summer of 2026, likely in May or June.

What Time Will “Avatar: Fire and Ash” Be Released On Disney+

Sometimes films can arrive a few minutes later as the servers update. The Disney+ front page usually updates about an hour later.
