“The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives” Spin-Off Series In Development

Following the release of the third season of the hit reality series, “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” on Hulu and Disney+, it’s been revealed that the team behind the show is exploring spin-offs.

The show follows the scandalous world of a group of Mormon mom influencers, which implodes when they get caught in the midst of a swinging sex scandal that makes international headlines. Now, their sisterhood is shaken to its core. Faith, friendship and reputations are all on the line. Will #MomTok be able to survive and continue to give the rulebook a run for its money, or will this group fall from grace?

In a recent interview with Deadline, the show’s producer, Jeff Jenkins, revealed:

“I’m very hopeful that something will be coming to viewers and fans very soon,”

Apparently, there are many ways of spinning off the show, focusing on other members of the group, while also putting existing cast members into a new show.

“We’re exploring both. The Secret Lives of… could be anything like The Secret Lives of Tibetan Nomadic Cattle Herders [for instance]. Mormons are fascinating. It’s a fascinating subculture. Because we’re talking about docuseries, we’re not talking about format, what’s going to lead the way? The shining star, the guiding light is going to be the personalities.”

It hasn’t yet been confirmed if “The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives” will be returning for a fourth season, but if it does, expect a multi-season order, so they can film them closer together.

“If the appetite from the subscribers on Hulu remains high for this franchise, then we’ll probably be shooting, chunks of 10 episodes, kind of quasi back-to-back, with that one or two month break in between. We’re very lucky to have an ensemble, like Jessi’s been carrying the ball in season [three] with her really intense divorce drama. Taylor Frankie Paul carried the ball in the season before that, so there’s always someone who’s got big story breaking. I anticipate we’re going to be shooting through most of 2026,”

“The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” is produced by Jeff Jenkins Productions in association with 3BMG and Walt Disney Television Alternative. It is exec produced by Jenkins, Russell Jay-Staglik, Andrea Metz, Elise Chung, Dan Cerny at Jeff Jenkins Productions, Ross Weintraub, Reinout Oerlemans at 3BMG and Georgia Berger, Lisa Filipelli, Danielle Pistotnik at Select Entertainment.

All three seasons of “The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives” are available to stream on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ around the world.

Roger’s Take:  When a show’s a hit, it doesn’t take long for executives to start thinking of ways they can capitalise on that success to make more money.  A spin-off series following some of the popular people in the show, or just introducing a brand new set of friends, is a logical step and follows a similar path of other successful reality shows like “The Kardashians” or “The Only Way Is Essex”.
