Charlie Cox Addresses ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Daredevil Cameo Rumours

One of the biggest surprises in Marvel’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home” was the cameo of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, the lawyer of Peter Parker, who is also known as the superhero Daredevil.

As you might suspect, with filming underway on the next Spider-Man film in the United Kingdom, there has been lots of speculation that Charlie Cox could make another surprise cameo in the film, especially as it will feature Jon Bernthal as “The Punisher”, who has appeared in both the “Daredevil” and “Daredevil: Born Again” shows.

During a recent interview on the Phase Hero podcast, Charlie Cox addressed a potential cameo in the upcoming “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” film:

“Well, I don’t read anything, so I don’t know [what fans are saying online].  I know that they all think I’m in Spider-Man because I’m filming something in London, which I’m not. I’m not in Spider-Man…I’m just concentrating on DD right now.”

It was recently confirmed at the New York Comic-Con that the second season of “Daredevil: Born Again” will be coming to Disney+ in March 2026, and a third season is already in development.  

“Daredevil” and “Daredevil: Born Again” are both available to stream on Disney+, and “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is set to hit cinemas on 31st July 2025.

Roger’s Take:  Unfortunately, for actors like Charlie Cox and Andrew Garfield, no matter how many times they say they aren’t in the upcoming “Spider-Man” film, people are going to be unwilling to fully believe them, since they denied being in the last one.  I still wouldn’t be surprised if Daredevil or Matt Murdock make a cameo in the new film, but with The Hulk and The Punisher involved, it might already be stuffed with too many characters.
