“Alien: Earth” Debuts On The Nielsen Streaming Chart

Nielsen has announced its top 10 streaming charts for the United States from August 11th, 2025, to August 17th 2025. There are four different charts: Top 10 Originals, Acquired Shows, Movies, and a combined total chart.

The new release of the week was the new sci-fi series, “Alien: Earth”, which debuted on the original charts following the release of the first two episodes on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+.  It’s also worth noting that the show also aired on the FX channel, so there will be views not counted by Nielsen.

The revival of “King Of The Hill” continued to bring in a large number of viewers on Hulu and Disney+, as audiences return to check out not just the new season, but the previous seasons, which is why it’s been able to maintain so much viewership.

It was also interesting to see “Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes” got a boost in viewership following it becoming available on Amazon Prime, highlighting the benefit of licensing between services, as new audiences can discover new shows and films. 

Disney continues to hold on to a large portion of the acquired charts, with Disney’s biggest hits, “Grey’s Anatomy”, “The Big Bang Theory”, “Family Guy” and “Bluey”, continuing to pull in viewers on Hulu and Disney+.
