Across Europe, local Original series continue to ramp up with a variety of suspenseful crime dramas to keep Disney+ customers gripped this Autumn. From Poland, “The Breslau Murders” (12th September) is an eight-part series set in 1936 that sees controversial but effective police commissioner Franz Podolsky investigate a brutal murder, resulting in a dangerous game of cat and mouse with the murderer. This spy thriller follows Seo Munju, a skilled former diplomat, as she tries to uncover the truth behind an attempt on a presidential candidate’s life.

There will also be plenty of new original content coming from Disney’s other studios include the gripping legal drama from Ryan Murphy, “All’s Fair” (November 2025), starring Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash-Betts, Teyana Taylor, Matthew Noszka, Sarah Paulson and Glenn Close; “Chad Powers” (30th September), a new Original comedy series starring Glen Powell, which tells the story of former hotshot quarterback Russ Holliday, as he tries to resurrect his dreams by disguising himself as talented oddball Chad Powers, and “Murdaugh: Death in the Family” (15th October), inspired by the popular Murdaugh Murders Podcast.

Jonas Brothers fans can also look forward to “A Very Jonas Christmas Movie” (14th November) a comedy from 20th Television and Disney Branded Television, which sees Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas face a series of escalating obstacles as they struggle to make it from London to New York in time to spend Christmas with their families.

Star Wars fans also have something to look forward, with the addition of “LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past” on 19th September, which continues the story that began in 2024 with “LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy.” A new threat rises in the galaxy, and Sig and Dev Greebling must combine their powers of Force Building and Sith Breaking to stop it. Alongside Jedi Bob, Yesi Scala, and Servo, they will journey into the deepest corners of LEGO Star Wars lore, uncovering pieces of all the galaxies that have come before. There will also be a new season of the Star Wars anime series, “Visions”.

It’s also been confirmed that Pixar’s “Elio”, will be coming to Disney+ this autumn. The film follows Elio, a space fanatic with an active imagination, who finds himself on a cosmic misadventure where he must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, navigate a crisis of intergalactic proportions, and somehow discover who he is truly meant to be.

For grown-ups, there will be some new films from 20th Century Studios, including “Swiped”, which is inspired by the provocative real-life story of the visionary founder of online dating platform Bumble. “Swiped” will be available from 19th September and introduces recent college grad Whitney Wolfe (Lily James) as she uses extraordinary grit and ingenuity to break into the male-dominated tech industry, launch an innovative, globally lauded dating app—two, actually, and pave the way to becoming the youngest female self-made billionaire.

Roger’s Take: Disney always goes heavy on new programming for the autumn, as audiences traditionally start watching more television in the evenings as it starts getting darker and cooler. There’s plenty of new shows to enjoy, like “Marvel Zombies” and “Star Wars: Visions”, along with the return of many favourites. There will also no doubt be many more shows added to this lineup as we get further into the winter, as there are many shows from ABC and FX that haven’t yet been given a confirmed UK release date.  We are also getting more live sports on Disney+ in the UK, though it’s still not enough to warrant the ESPN hub launching yet!
