“Search For The Truth: The Amanda Knox Story” Coming Soon To Hulu & Disney+
Just ahead of the release of the upcoming limited series, “The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox,” Disney has announced details of a brand new documentary called “Search for the Truth: The Amanda Knox Story”.
The new documentary features an exclusive primetime interview with Amanda Knox, who discusses the years-long battle to prove her innocence after being wrongfully convicted of her roommate’s 2007 murder. Knox speaks candidly about the profound toll of her wrongful conviction, the global media frenzy that shaped the public’s perception of her, and the lingering impact of misinformation and speculation that have followed her ever since. The one-hour special goes beyond the headlines and offers an unfiltered look at a very different Amanda in the aftermath.
Knox also talks about her involvement as an executive producer in Hulu’s upcoming limited series inspired by her story, “The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox,” which is going to premiere on Wednesday, 20th August 2025, on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ around the world. Creator, executive producer and showrunner of the Hulu series K.J. Steinberg, executive producers Monica Lewinsky and Warren Littlefield and Grace Van Patten, who plays Amanda, are also interviewed in the ABC primetime special.
“Search for the Truth: The Amanda Knox Story” is produced by ABC News Studios. David Sloan is the senior executive producer. Muriel Pearson is executive producer, and Jake Lefferman is supervising producer.
The “Search for the Truth: The Amanda Knox Story” documentary will air on Friday, 22nd August 2025 at 8:00-9:00 p.m. EDT, on ABC, and it will be available to stream the next day on Disney+ and Hulu. No international release details have been announced.
