‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Stars Tease Potential Third Season
One of this year’s biggest Disney+ Original releases was Marvel’s “Daredevil: Born Again”, which is a revival and continuation of the “Daredevil” series, featuring Charlie Cox as the Man Without Fear, aka Daredevil aka Matt Murdock.
In Marvel Television’s “Daredevil: Born Again,” Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer with heightened abilities is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk, who is played by Vincent D’Onofrio, pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.
The first season of “Daredevil: Born Again” was released on Disney+ earlier this year, and the second season is due to arrive on the streaming platform in March 2026. Marvel has also been very open about their plans to make their Disney+ shows feel more like traditional television, often using multiple seasons, rather than continuing to create back-to-back shows like it has done over the past few years.
However, the future of “Daredevil: Born Again” has now come into question following a recent appearance by Charlie Cox during a panel at GalaxyCon, when he referred to the second season of “Born Again” as the “final season” of the series.
“The one that we just finished with in Season 2 of ‘Born Again,’ I think, is my favorite, for a couple of reasons. One, because it is bad-ass, but also because every suit that we’ve had so far, in some way, is represented in the comics. But there’s something that we do in this final season that doesn’t exist in the comics. So, it is unique to our show.”
These words have quickly spread around the internet, and Vincent D’Onofrio has taken to social media to say:
“I believe Charlie meant the last season we actually shot meaning the second season. Yet he used the term final season so its a bit confusing. But Charlie and i have discussed and we both agree there’s a very good chance for a third season.
Roger’s Take: It’s very likely that Charlie Cox did just make a mistake while talking, but it is also possible that the show will come to an end, especially as the viewership numbers earlier this year weren’t amazing. But it’s unlikely we will know if it’s been renewed for a third season for a while yet.
But that doesn’t mean that would be the last we see of “Daredevil”, since he has also appeared in “The Defenders”, “She-Hulk: Attorney At Law”, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” and “Echo”. Or they could kick off a brand new show called something else, featuring the characters, especially as Marvel wants to keep its movies and shows more separated than its been over the past few years.
The first season of “Daredevil: Born Again”, along with the original “Daredevil” series are available to stream on Disney+.
