Disney’s Anime “Twisted Wonderland” Disney+ Release Date Announced

Disney has announced new details on the upcoming first season of the anime series, “Disney Twisted Wonderland: The Animation”, which is called “Episode of Heartslabyul”.

The new series is based on a mobile adventure game that weaves characters inspired by classic Disney villains and takes place in a school. The art style has been created by manga artist Kariyanaga.

This new anime series is set in the enchanted world of Twisted Wonderland, where seven legendary figures, known as the “Great Seven,” have been immortalised. Based on seven iconic Disney Villains: the Queen of Hearts, the King of Beasts (Scar), the Sea Witch (Ursula), the Sorcerer of the Sands (Jafar), the Fairest Queen (Evil Queen), the King of the Underworld (Hades), and the Thorn Fairy (Maleficent), the acts of these individuals inspire the creation of seven magical dormitories at Night Raven College — an elite academy for budding mages.

Unaware of any of this, Yuken Enma, an ordinary high school student from Tokyo, suddenly finds himself transported to Night Raven College and immediately begins alienating its residents.

Unable to wield magic, unsure of the customs, and stunned by the new reality he finds himself in, Yuken starts searching for a way back home. Constantly finding himself tangled up in adventures with his troublemaking new classmates, Ace and Deuce, Yuken needs to find his way home before incurring the wrath of the Rose-Red Tyrant, Riddle Rosehearts.

Disney has already confirmed there will be two more seasons of the show, which are called “Episode of Sabanaclaw” and “Episode of Octaville”.

It has been produced by “Yumeta Company x Grafnica”, which previously worked on “Valkyrie II of the End of the World”, which was a global hit. It has been directed by Takahiro Natori, written by Yoichi Kato and features music by Takumi Ozawa. “Disney Twisted Wonderland: The Animation” stars Natsuki Hanae, Seiichiro Yamashita, and Chiaki Kobayashi.

The new series will consist of eight episodes, and Disney has announced that the show will premiere exclusively on Disney+ around the world on Wednesday, 29th October 2025, with new episodes being released weekly.
