Marvel Studios “What If?” Season 2 Coming To Disney+ During The Holiday Season
Disney has officially confirmed that the second season of the Marvel Studios animated series, “What If?”, will premiere on Disney+ over the holiday season. However, no official Disney+ release date has yet been announced, nor if the series will be released weekly or as a binge drop.
“What If…?” flips the script on the MCU, reimagining famous events from the films in unexpected ways. Marvel Studios’ first animated series focuses on different heroes from the MCU, featuring a voice cast that includes a host of stars who reprise their roles.
In the second season, the Watcher continues the journey as our guide through the vast multiverse, introducing brand-new and familiar faces throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The animated anthology series questions, revisits and twists classic Marvel Cinematic moments with an incredible voice cast that includes a host of stars who reprise their iconic roles.
Some of the stories included in the new season see Peggy Carter and Natasha Romanoff going up against the Hydra Stomper — and Steve Rogers. Additional characters appearing in the second season include Yondu, Young Peter Parker, Ego, Shang-Chi, Valkyrie, Korg, Tony Stark, Wenwu, Odin, Red Guardian, and more.
One of the episodes will feature an all-new Marvel superhero called Kahhori, and What If…? asks what would happen if the Tesseract fell to Earth and landed in the sovereign Haudenosaunee Confederacy before the colonization of America. The Tesseract takes on a new life and a new mythology, transforming a lake into a gateway to the stars and leading Kahhori, a young Mohawk woman, on a quest to discover her power.
The first season of “What If? was originally released in August 2021 and featured many different stories, including “What If… Captain Carter Were the First Avenger?”, “What If… T’Challa Became a Star-Lord?” and “What If… Killmonger Rescued Tony Stark?”.
You’ll find the entire first season of “What If?” on Disney+ now.
