Walt Disney Animation Studios is developing a new film about a Brazilian family, who all have magical powers, however a young girl in the family has no powers.  According to “The Disinsider”, the movie is tentatively called “Encanto”, which means “charm” in English.  Though its important to note that working titles often change before release.

The film is going to be directed by Byron Howard and Jared Bush, who previously worked together on Zootopia.  With Lin-Manuel Miranda writing the music for the film.  Clark Spencer (Ralph Breaks the Internet) and Yvett Merino Flores (Moana) will be producing the film.  The screenplay is being co-written by Charise Castro Smith, who previously worked on “The Haunting of Hill House”, along with Jared Bush.

Disney has a number of “unannounced” animated movies on their theatrical schedules for Thanksgiving dates, including one on November 24th 2021 and another a year later on November 23rd 2022.  This year was originally going to see Raya and the Last Dragon released around Thanksgiving, but due to Pixar’s “Soul” being delayed to the Coronavirus, it was pushed back.

No details have yet been officially announced by Disney.
