The new remake of the classic animated movie, “The Lion King”, has been released in cinemas this week and if your holding out to see this new version at home, you might be wondering when it will be on Disney+.

The good news is that Disney confirmed that “The Lion King” will be available on Disney+ within the first year of launch.

We don’t yet know officially exactly when Disney+ will add “The Lion King” but if we take a look at the new movies we know release dates for.

March’s movies, Dumbo and Captain Marvel will be available on launch day on November 12th.

While April’s Avengers: Endgame will be added to Disney+ on December 11th.

Making it look likely that “The Lion King” might be coming to Disney+ in early 2020, around late February or March.

However things could change since the release schedule hasn’t yet been confirmed and Disney have said they might speed up the release schedule to encourage more subscribers.

Once we have official confirmation, we will be posting the details on the site.

The good news is that the original animated classic will be available on Disney+ at launch.
