When will it be added to the U.S? I know theres the contract, but I wish Disney would just start buying out the various contracts and rights for their titles, it the short run, they willl go into a lot of debt, but they were already in $80 billion+ debt after the Fox purchase, and all the extra contract buyouts and rights purchases would only slightly add to the debt, in the long run, they sill make it back very quickly, especially once Covid 19 raps up
I’ve seen this mentioned before regarding Star and the insinuation that it has little footprint (really only in India) and I just want to clarify. Star’s branding footprint reaches far wider than just India. It’s footprint reaches: India, Indonesia, Singapore, China, Malaysia, U.K, United States, North Africa, Middle East, and Canada. So while it might not reach many Western or Latin American countries, it does have a larger brand footprint than Hulu which is just United States (and Japan, even though they don’t own Hulu Japan so really it’s irrelevant). Hulu has minor word of mouth in select European countries like UK, Germany, and France and some Spanish American countries like Brazil and Mexico, but overall Star has a wider reach, footprint, and name recognition. With that said, I agree that just “Star” isn’t really all that interesting or unique of a name — though they’ve never said that that is the name, they’ve only stated that the new service will be based around the “Star brand” which could mean a few things.
