It’s Sunday and time to take our weekly look at what everybody is watching on Disney+, which is once again dominated by “The Simpsons”, though many of this week’s new releases pushed their way onto the chart.

Here is the Disney+ Trending chart for the week ending Sunday 27th September 2020 for the United States:

The newest Disney+ Original movie, Secret Society Of Second Born Royals was able to go straight into second place, showing how popular this new Disney Channel movie is with subscribers.

National Geographic’s newest zoo documentary, Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom also slipped into the top 10 and the two big 20th Century Studios movies, Hidden Figures and Fault In Our Stars, also made this week’s trending list.

Disney doesn’t provide actual viewing numbers for Disney+, so this chart is based off the Trending section on my Disney+ app on Sunday morning.  Numbers within brackets indicate last weeks spot on the trending chart.

    Once again for 8 Weeks the Simpsons continues to be #1 trending on Disney+. It's going to be a while until some movie or show bumps The Simpsons to #2 or #3.?

        But for How Long, that is the question? Hamilton was Number #1 for Two weeks in July before The Simpsons returned to Number #1. The only time that the Simpsons wasn't number 1 in trending on Disney+ was during the last week of April (April 26) until May 17 when Star Wars: The Clone Wars (for 2 weeks), The Rise of Skywalker, and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil were Number #1 in trending and that lasted or 3-4 weeks. Again, I'm not attacking The Simpsons, but honestly having The Simpsons continue to be #1 trending on Disney+ for 8 straights weeks (as of now) or even 10-16 weeks does feel repetitive, obvious, and "the same as it ever was" already. ??

          I understand with your point and you are completely right. Personally, The Simpsons is my most favorite cartoon show but I do wish the trending charts be different instead of having most of the Disney and Pixar content on there while there’s only a few from Marvel, Star Wars, and 20th Century. Clearly, kids are watching their favorite Disney and Pixar content over and over again. The only content that adults are clearly watching this week are The Simpsons (of course), Once Upon a Time, Hidden Figures, and The Fault in Our Stars. Just a reminder: Black is King was no. 1 for a week, then The Simpsons took over which I’m not surprised.

I didn't include Black is King as I ONLY specifically listed the programs in which Simpsons was not Number 1 in Trending for 2-4 weeks hence why I only listed Hamilton for the first two weeks in July and when Star Wars: The Clone Wars (for 2 weeks), The Rise of Skywalker, and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil were Number #1 in trending during the last week of April (April 26) until May 17.
