It’s the start of a brand new week and time to take a look at what’s coming to Disney+ in Canada this week, which includes multiple new originals such as “Sneakerella” plus new additions to the library.

Wednesday 11th May 2022


Ousseline

On the night of 5 December 1986, 22-year-old Malik Oussekine was beaten to death by the police. The state machine steps into gear, led by Robert Pandraud. The Oussekine family quickly realise that they will have to fight for justice and to expose the truth. Oussekine is a four-episode miniseries about the Oussekine family’s struggle. It goes back through the events, shows their hopes and disillusions, and paints the portrait of a country in turmoil.


The Quest

Brought to the screen by the Academy Award- and Emmy-winning teams behind “The Lord of the Rings,” “The Amazing Race” and “Queer Eye,” “The Quest” is a ground-breaking, immersive, hybrid competition series that drops eight real-life teenagers (Paladins) into the fantastic, fictional world of Everealm, where they must save a Kingdom by fulfilling an ancient prophecy. Throughout the eight-episode series, these heroes are immersed in a fantasy world come to life complete with a castle, royals, ethereal Fates, all forms of mystical creatures and a Sorceress intent on destruction and power.


Marvel Studios: Assembled – The Making of Moon Knight

Join the likes of Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke as they reveal how Marvel Studios’ Moon Knight was painstakingly brought to life. Through insightful interviews with cast and crew, along with immersive footage from the set, ASSEMBLED pulls back the curtain on this groundbreaking series. Additionally, The Making of Moon Knight incorporates a candid “roundtable discussion” with the series’ directors.


Abbott Elementary (S1)

A group of dedicated, passionate teachers — and a slightly tone-deaf principal — find themselves thrown together in a Philadelphia public school where, despite the odds stacked against them, they are determined to help their students succeed in life. Though these incredible public servants may be outnumbered and underfunded, they love what they do — even if they don’t love the school district’s less-than-stellar attitude toward educating children.


Rebel (S1)

Inspired by the life of Erin Brockovich, Annie “Rebel” Bello is a blue-collar legal advocate without a law degree. She’s a funny, messy, brilliant and fearless woman who cares desperately about the causes she fights for and the people she loves. When Rebel applies herself to a fight she believes in, she will win at almost any cost.


This is Us (S1-3)

Jack and his wife – who is very pregnant with triplets – have just moved into their new home in Pittsburgh. Successful and handsome television actor Kevin is growing increasingly bored with his bachelor lifestyle. Randall – who was abandoned at a fire station by his father as an infant – is a stylish New York-based businessman working to raise two daughters with his wife, Beth. These people are among a group, several of whom share a birthday, of seemingly random individuals whose lives intertwine in unexpected ways.


The Hardy Boys – Season 2 – Episodes 1-4

Brothers Frank and Joe join their father and head to Bridgeport to investigate the circumstances behind a recent tragedy to them. Things take a turn when they stumble upon a ghastly truth.


Something Bit Me! (S1)

The filmmaker sheds light on the stories of individuals who have been bitten by various animals in the wild, resulting in several health issues.


The Wizard of Paws (S2)

The Wizard of Paws is an American reality show on BYU TV that follows Sterling, Virginia-based animal orthotist Derrick Campana as he creates prosthetic limbs for pets and sanctuary animals.

The Kardashians – New Episode

One member of the family feels left out as they celebrate different milestones. Scott comes to terms with his new role in the family dynamic. Kim prepares for her last attempt at the bar exam.


Friday 13th May 2022

Sneakerella

El, an aspiring sneaker designer from Queens, works as a stock boy in a shoe store and hides his artistic talent. Sparks fly after a chance encounter with Kira King, the daughter of sneaker royalty and a Manhattan Princess Charming of sorts. With a nudge from his best friend and a touch of magic, El finds the courage to lace up and dream big.


The Blue Max

Lt. Bruno Stachel (George Peppard), a brash German World War I fighter pilot, is driven to shoot down 20 enemy planes, thus garnering him the Blue Max, a coveted medal. His superior, Count von Klugermann (James Mason), is aware that Bruno will stop at nothing to receive the honor, and admires his tenacity. The count’s nephew, Willi (Jeremy Kemp), is Bruno’s main competition for the prize, but Bruno is determined to eliminate his adversary and secure the honor for himself.


Taps

Timothy Hutton, Sean Penn and Tom Cruise join the legendary George C. Scott in this tense, compelling drama. A cadet major (Hutton) leads his fellow military students in an armed revolt against authorities in order to save their school from being turned into a condominium complex. But when an unexpected accident leads to the school’s demise, military discipline goes haywire, with tragic results.

Bob’s Burgers (S12, New Episode)

Gene becomes obsessed with an old handheld game, so Bob offers to help him with a school project in the hope of steering him towards more interesting pursuits; Louise and Tina take over a grocery store kiddie ride.


Family Guy (S20, New Episode)

Lois’ piano student, Alana, comes to work for the Griffins and turns out to have sinister intentions.


The Great North (S2, New Episode)

Wolf chaperones Ham and Judy’s school field trip to an abandoned prison; Beef unintentionally agrees to write a poem.


The Simpsons (S33, New Episode)

Lisa finds an unlikely mentor in Shauna Chalmers when she joins the high school marching band; Homer becomes a craft beer brewer.
