Disney has announced that the ABC Signature Studios series, “High Fidelity”, will be coming to Disney+ in Canada on Friday 18th February 2022.

This series is a reimagining of Nick Hornby’s 1995 novel, “High Fidelity”, centres on Rob, a female record store owner in the rapidly gentrified neighbourhood of Crown Heights, Brooklyn, who revisits past relationships through music and pop culture, while trying to get over her one true love.

This series was originally going to be a Disney+ Original, but was shifted over to Hulu when creative differences meant the show was deemed too mature for Disney+.

High Fidelity also stars Da’Vine Joy Randolph, David H. Holmes, Jake Lacy, and Kingsley Ben-Adir.

The series was developed for television by writers Veronica West & Sarah Kucserka. West and Kucserka executive produce alongside Midnight Radio’s Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, and Scott Rosenberg, as well as Nick Hornby and Jeff Reiner. Jesse Peretz will direct and executive produce the pilot. Midnight Radio’s Adrienne Erickson will serve as producer.

The original film starring John Cusack is also available on Disney+. The series is also already available on Disney+ in some other countries, including the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
