In December, Disney+ in Canada will be getting many new originals including new episodes of Star Wars: The Mandalorian, along with a holiday special of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. There will also be some new library additions throughout the month including major titles leaving Netflix such as Ralph Breaks The Internet.


NOTE – This list isn’t complete and will be updated with new additions as they are announced. The list is also subject to change. Content may vary depending on your country and this list is based on the release schedule in Canada.

Friday 4th December

Mulan

To save her ailing father from serving in the Imperial Army, a fearless young woman disguises herself as a man to battle northern invaders in China.

Godmothered

Set at Christmas time, “Godmothered” is a comedy about Eleanor, a young, inexperienced fairy godmother-in-training (Jillian Bell) who upon hearing that her chosen profession is facing extinction, decides to show the world that people still need fairy godmothers. Finding a mislaid letter from a 10-year-old girl in distress, Eleanor tracks her down and discovers that the girl, Mackenzie, is now a 40-year-old single mom (Isla Fisher) working at a news station in Boston. Having lost her husband several years earlier, Mackenzie has all but given up on the idea of “Happily Ever After,” but Eleanor is bound and determined to give Mackenzie a happiness makeover, whether she likes it or not.


Star Wars: The Mandalorian – Season 2 – Episode 6

The Mandalorian and the Child continue their journey, facing enemies and rallying allies as they make their way through a dangerous galaxy in the tumultuous era after the collapse of the Galactic Empire.


The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse – Episode 5 & 6

“Keep On Rollin’”
Mickey and his friends’ disco night at the roller rink is placed in peril when their fun is crashed by Peg-Leg Pete and his gang.

“The Big Good Wolf”
Mickey Mouse attempts to turn the Big Bad Wolf into a good person.


Extras – Beyond the Clouds: Where It All Began

Beyond the Clouds takes an exclusive look inside the production and inspiration behind the Disney+ original movie. The short form docuseries can be found under extras for Clouds. A total of nine episodes will premiere weekly with the final episode streaming on January 29. In the first episode, director Justin Baldoni stumbles upon Zach Sobiech’s story and sets out to find him. From their very first meeting, Justin realizes this young musician’s story is special and that Zach’s desire to make an impact before he leaves this world can inspire people everywhere.


The Nutcracker and the Four Realms

On Christmas Eve, Clara realises that before dying, her mother left her with an inheritance to a magical world of fairies and toy soldiers that are alive. She holds the key to the fate of this world.


Brain Games (season 5, 6)

Experts in cognitive science, neuroscience and psychology perform experiments and explore various components of the human brain.


Diana: In Her Own Words

Using home videos recorded by her voice coach, Diana takes us through the story of her life.


Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul

Greg Heffley’s mother proposes a road trip during the summer vacation, ruining his plans. He comes up with an idea to attend a YouTube gaming convention.


Epic

When Mary, a 17-year-old teenager, shrinks in size, she discovers a world inhabited by strange creatures. Soon, she finds herself reluctantly pulled into a battle between good and evil forces.


Eragon

Eragon, a farm boy, stumbles upon a dragon’s egg. He befriends the dragon cub and rides it only to realise that he is destined to be a dragon rider who must save his people from an evil king.


We Bought A Zoo

After his wife’s death, Benjamin buys a house with a zoo attached to it. He then takes on the responsibility of renovating the zoo so that it can be opened for the public again.


Friday 11th December


Safety

“Safety” is the empowering story of Ray McElrathbey, a young man facing a series of challenging circumstances, whose faith and persistence help him to triumph over repeated adversities and play football on scholarship at Clemson University, all while struggling to raise and care for his 11-year-old brother Fahmarr.


High School Musical: The Musical: The Holiday Special

The cast of “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” delivers an abundance of feel-good holiday cheer as they perform their favorite Christmas, Hanukkah and New Year’s songs and share their fondest holiday memories in “High School Musical: The Musical: The Holiday Special.” The 45-minute special will also feature a sneak peek performance from the highly anticipated second season of the popular series.

Series regulars Olivia Rodrigo, Joshua Bassett, Matt Cornett, Sofia Wylie, Larry Saperstein, Julia Lester, Dara Reneé, Frankie Rodriguez, Joe Serafini, Mark St. Cyr and Kate Reinders will get viewers in the holiday spirit with their renditions of holiday classics, popular hits and a medley of Hanukkah favorites. They will also share anecdotes of memorable holidays from their childhoods, best – and most embarrassing! – presents, favorite traditions, family photos and poignant New Year’s resolutions. Bassett will also debut an acoustic version of an original song which he wrote for season two of “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.”

The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse – Episode 7 & 8

“The Brave Little Squire”
Mickey dreams of being a knight, but when he is chosen to be Sir Mortimer’s squire, he discovers his new boss’s heroic reputation is a fairytale.

“An Ordinary Date”
Mickey and Minnie attempt to make their ordinary dinner date into something extraordinary.


Extras – Beyond the Clouds: Meet the Sobiechs

Intercut with footage from their auditions, we meet Fin, Sabrina, Madison, Neve, and Tom as Justin sends the cast to meet their real-life counterparts in Minnesota and New York City. The group bonds over their love of Zach, and the actors discover inspiration to bring their roles to life.


Ralph Breaks The Internet

Ralph and his best friend, Vanellope, face various challenges as they visit the uncharted land of the Internet through a Wi-Fi router at the arcade to save the game, Sugar Rush.

“Supermarket Scramble”
Mickey and his friends’ plans for a barbeque get sidetracked after a quick trip to the supermarket turns into an odyssey.

“Just the Four of Us”
Donald and Daisy’s little lie becomes a big problem when they try to get out of a group date with Mickey and Minnie.


On Pointe

“On Pointe” is a six-part docu-series that captures a season in the School of American Ballet (SAB) in New York City. Featuring unprecedented access to the famous ballet institution, the series follows the lives of the students ages 8 to 18 pursuing their dreams to become ballet dancers. While older students from all over the country rigorously train for professional careers, younger students from New York City are put through their paces as they rehearse and perform in New York City Ballet’s holiday classic “George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker” onstage at Lincoln Center.

Jingle All The Way

Miraculous World: New York, United Heroez

Marinette’s class must travel to New York to celebrate French-American Friendship Week. The whole class participates in it… except Adrien, because his father refuses to let him go. In anticipation of her departure, Ladybug asks Cat Noir to watch over Paris but does not specify the reasons for her absence. The latter takes the mission very seriously… but when Marinette, as a class delegate, convinces Gabriel to let his son go with his classmates, Adrien has a problem. Indeed, the schoolboy is also Cat Noir in secret, he cannot at the same time watch over Paris and be with his class in New York. How is he going to do that? If the two heroes are away, who will watch over Paris? There’s one thing Ladybug and Cat Noir don’t know: Hawk Moth is also getting ready to travel! The French-American Friendship Week interests him the most and it may well be that American superheroes need a little help! What can Hawk Moth have in mind when heading to New York?

When Justin tasks Fin with creating an original song to be performed in the film, Fin surprises himself and everyone else when he discovers that his new song is directly connected to one Zach had been writing but was unable to finish before he passed away. Nothing short of a miracle, the story deeply touches Justin and, especially Zach’s girlfriend, Amy.
