It’s Saturday, and if you’re looking for some ideas of what to watch on Disney+ this weekend, here are a few of my top suggestions to watch, which include many of this week’s biggest new releases.

WandaVision

Without a doubt, if you’re only going to be one thing on Disney+ this weekend, make sure its the season finale of “WandaVision”, which brings together everything from the past 2 months into one big epic battle as Wanda and the evil witch Agatha Harkness do battle above the skies of Westview.  If you have been on the fence on “WandaVision” or perhaps didn’t like the sitcom aspects of the show, this episode throws all of that to the curb as we head into the epic finale.  It’s just fantastic!   Check out my full episode review here.

Raya And The Last Dragon

The biggest release of 2021 so far is here in the form of a brand new animated classic from Disney, and what an incredible movie this is.  It’s one of the most beautiful films made by Disney and tells the story of the fantasy world of Kumandra, where humans and dragons lived together in harmony. But when an evil force threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned, and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people.  It’s a fantastic film, but it is a Premier Access title, so it does cost extra.  So if you’re in the mood for something brand new and don’t want to go to the cinema to see the latest Disney animated film, but cosy up on the couch in your PJ’s, this is a great choice.  Check out my full review of “Raya and the Last Dragon” by clicking here.

Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties

If you’re looking for a fun film to watch with the family, this film returned to Disney+ in the United States this week.   Garfield and Odie break out of their kennel to go to England with Jon. Coincidentally, Garfield greatly resembles a cat who has inherited a castle and accidentally ends up trading places with him.

Big Sky  (Star Original)

This new series is only available in some countries as a “Star Original”, but it’s easily one of the best shows I’m watching right now and is one that both my wife and I watch together.   Private detective Cassie Dewell partners with ex-cop Jenny Hoyt on a search for two sisters who have been kidnapped by a truck driver on a remote highway in Montana. When they discover that these are not the only girls who have disappeared in the area, they must race against the clock to stop the perpetrator before another woman is taken.   The villains in this series are so nasty; you just want them to get their comeuppance.  New episodes drop every Friday.  Check out my review of this weeks episode here.

Grey’s Anatomy (Star Original) Season 17 – Australia/New Zealand

The third episode from the latest season of “Grey’s Anatomy” dropped onto Disney+ in Australia and New Zealand this Friday.  As someone who has been watching Grey’s Anatomy since the very first episode.  This is one show that instantly went onto our watchlist for shows to watch over the weekend.  In this weeks episode, the Grey Sloan doctors continue to face their new COVID-19 reality and deal with a familiar and stubborn patient. Koracick is put in charge of the interns who recently joined the hospital ranks, and Link operates on a sex therapist. Elsewhere, Maggie finds comfort in Winston’s virtual presence.
