It’s the weekend, and with so many things to watch on Disney+, I’ve picked out 5 things to recommend you check out, including some new additions and some library content.

Loki

Without question, the biggest hit for Disney+ so far is Marvel Studios “Loki”, which has instantly become one of the most popular series on the streaming platform.  This past week, Disney added the final episode of the first season, setting up possibly the biggest upset to the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe since Infinity War.  If you haven’t already jumped into this series, nows is the perfect time to do so, since you can binge the entire season in one go.  If you’re a fan of Marvel, this is a must-see.  This isn’t like other Marvel shows. This will have a major impact on the rest of the movies and shows.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series

With just a couple of episodes left in season 2 left to be released, this is also a good time to jump in and catch up on the antics at East High.  If you’ve never watched this series before, it’s basically about a group of High School students who go to the high school where the original “High School Musical” film was made.  With the first season focused on the drama club putting on a performance of the original “High School Musical”, while the second season has seen them tackle the classic Disney musical, “Beauty and the Beast”.  They also have lots of teenage angst and drama to go along with the main plot, but the main thing to watch this series for is the amazing performances, either great versions of the classic songs or brand new tunes that a new generation is falling in love with.

We Brought A Zoo

This great feel-good family film is about, Benjamin, who is played by Matt Damon, who, after his wife’s death, buys a house with a zoo attached to it. He then takes on the responsibility of renovating the zoo so that it can be opened for the public again.  It also stars Scarlett Johansson.  This 20th Century Studios film was only recently added to Disney+ in the United States, and the story is based on Dartmoor Zoo, which is only about 20 miles from where I live, though they relocated the story to California for the purposes of the film.

The Mysterious Benedict Society

Much like with “Big Shot”, I’m going to keep beating the drum about this series, because it’s great having a fresh story getting an opportunity on Disney+.  It’s a great series for the whole family, and with 5 episodes now available on Disney+, things are really starting to get going and get behind what is “The Emergency”.    I’d really recommend all Disney+ subscribers try out the first episode and give it a whirl.

War Of The Worlds – Season 2 (UK/Ireland)

This past Friday, the first episode from the second season of the British/French series “War Of The Worlds” debuted on Star On Disney+.  With the closure of the Fox channel in the UK and Ireland, the show has shifted over to Disney+, so some people might not be aware of that change.  The first season of the show is also available on Disney+, so that’s a good way of catching up, if you’ve missed this great series.  It’s a retelling of the classic H. G. Wells story, but with some twists along the way.  Instead of massive triffids attacking cities, the aliens work out a much more quicker way to wipe out the population plus some scary looking robotic dog type creatures.   Definitely worth a look.

So that’s my suggestions for what to watch on Disney+ this week. Do you have any suggestions for our readers?
