It’s the weekend, and there is lots of great new content to enjoy on Disney+, including lots of great Marvel content such as the fantastic film “Black Widow”, plus lots of other brand new episodes.
Here are my top 5 picks to watch on Disney+ this weekend:
The biggest movie of the year so far, Marvel’s “Black Widow”, has just been released on Disney+ Premier Access and in cinemas, so if your only going to watch one thing, this should be high on your list. This film focuses on the Black Widow reuniting with her “family”, introducing us to some new heroes, including the Red Guardian and a brand new villain, the Taskmaster. “Black Widow” is full of action and get comedy moments, which make this a great way to kick off the first film in phase four. I really enjoyed the film and think it was worth the premium price, but you’ve also got the option to head to the cinema if you think it’s too expensive.
The penultimate episode of Marvel’s “Loki” was added this past Wednesday and was possibly had some of the strangest moments in the history of the MCU. With “Loki” pruned and sent to an alternative timeline, full of Loki variants, including an Alligator version of the God of Mischief. One thing I did think about this episode, is that if you’re a fan of Doctor Who, this series could be for you, as it’s got plenty of time travelling with a quirky side, which means you never know what’s going to happen next. “Loki” is easily one of the best shows on Disney+ and is a must-watch.
The Good, The Bart and The Loki
To tie in with Marvel’s “Loki”, Disney has released a new short featuring characters from “The Simpsons” as Marvel superheroes. It’s not a very long short, and the story is extremely weak, but there are lots of great crossover moments within the short, especially during the credits, that make this worth taking a couple of minutes of your time.
The Mysterious Benedict Society
The fourth episode of this great Disney+ Original series has just been added on Friday and continues to build a strange and quirky world, where 4 kids have to find out what’s causing the “Emergency”. This is a fantastic original series, and I wish more people were watching it. This is exactly what Disney+ needs, more original content, that isn’t connected to Star Wars or Marvel. The fourth episode of this series also digs a little deeper into the adults in the show, while also giving us a hint of what’s to come. It’s a lovely series, and we’re only at the halfway point.
Shark Beach With Chris Hemsworth
SharkFest has kicked off on Disney+ and one of the biggest new additions this week is “Shark Beach With Chris Hemsworth”, aka Thor! This special only aired on the National Geographic channel this week, so it’s nice to see Disney speeding up the release schedule a little. I’m a huge lover of sharks, and I’ve been a fan of Chris since his time on the Australian soap “Home & Away”, so this is a great way to learn a little more about sharks.
