During Disney’s Asia-Pacific Showcase Event that was held today in Japan, a brand new animated series was announced that is going to be an anime adaptation of “Twisted Wonderland”, Disney’s highly popular mobile game by Aniplex.

This mobile game was released in Japan in March 2020 and was designed by Yana Taboso, who is the creator behind “Black Butler”.

In this game, the player is summoned to another world, called “Twisted Wonderland”.  Where the player is enrolled into a prestigious magician training school “Night Raven College”.  The player is trying to find a way home and is guided by a masked character.  The game involves the player learning magic history, alchemy, and flight techniques.

There are seven dormitories at Night Raven College, where the player interacts with the characters in each dormitory.

  • Hertzlabule Dormitory twisted from “Alice in Wonderland”
  • Savanna Craw Dormitory twisted from “Lion King”
  • Octavinel Dormitory twisted from “The Little Mermaid”
  • Scarboria Dormitory twisted from “Aladdin”
  • Pomfiore Dormitory twisted from “Snow White”
  • Igni Hide Dormitory twisted from “Hercules”
  • Diasomnia Dormitory twisted from “Sleeping Beauty”

No other details on the project have yet been revealed, such as when the series will be released.

The game already features some anime scenes throughout the mobile game, which you can see below:

Disney is planning on releasing the majority of its new APAC regional original shows on Disney+ globally.  With Anime being so popular, this sounds like it could become a major hit for years to come.
