Disney has announced that “Tron: Legacy” is going to be returning to Disney+ in the United States on Friday 10th December 2021.

This sequel to the 1980s classic, follows Sam Flynn, a tech-savvy and daring son of Kevin Flynn, who investigates his father’s disappearance and is pulled into The Grid. With the help of a mysterious program named Quorra, Sam quests to stop evil dictator Clu from crossing into the real world.

The film was removed due to preexisting contracts with streaming companies including HBO, Hulu, Starz and Netflix, which were made before Disney decided to launch its own streaming service.

“Tron: Legacy” is still available on Disney+ in many countries around the world and the original 1980s film is available on Disney+ worldwide.
