Each month, I bring you my list of the top 50 series that are suitable for kids that are available on Disney+, which include series from across Disney, Star Wars, Marvel, National Geographic and Pixar.

There is a wide selection of live-action and animated shows available on Disney+ including Lizzie McGuire, Star Wars Rebels, Marvel’s Spider-Man and much more.

Here is the “What’s On Disney Plus” Top 50 series on Disney+ for January 2021:

50) Star Wars Resistance

This new animated series set before the events of “The Force Awakens” follows Kazuda Xiono, a young pilot for the Resistance, is tasked with a top secret mission to investigate the First Order, a growing threat in the galaxy. The animation style is very different to “The Clone Wars” and “Rebels”, but if you want a more modern Star Wars animated series, try it out. The second and final season was also added to Disney+ in February.

49) The Big Fib

Ever thought you could spot a fib better than a kid? Find out on The Big Fib. A new Disney+ game show, hosted by Yvette Nicole Brown and featuring Rhys Darby as her robot sidekick, C.L.I.V.E. In each episode of this comedy game show, a kid starts by playing a warm-up round where a silly liar and an authentic expert share fabulous fibs and fun facts. Starring up and coming comedic talent, this round is played for laughs as well as always having a nugget of real information about the topic be it ice-cream, tree-climbing or toy design. Next our kid contestant plays the main round where they question an expert who’s paired with a really good liar on the same topic. It’s up to our kid to find the fibber. There are visual clues, fascinating props, a hot seat round of rapid-fire questions and various topics, including jellyfish, venom and killer plants. The show culminates with the expert and liar standing under the Fib Foam machine to await their fate. If our kid chooses correctly, the liar gets foamed. The Big Fib is full of outrageous truths that sound like lies and audacious lies that sound like the truth.

48) Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja (Season 1-2)

Randy Cunningham is a ninth-grader who is an unlikely hero with a superhuman ninja suit, the NinjaNomicon. Randy uses the suit and help from his best friend, Howard, to battle evil while trying to survive high school and guard his secret identity — all while trying to protect his school and the world from certain destruction. Seems like an average life for a high-school freshman, right?

47) Kim Possible

Kim Possible is an animated series about a teenage crime fighter who has the task of dealing with worldwide, family, and school issues every day. The show is action-oriented, but also has a light-hearted atmosphere and often lampoons the conventions and clichés of the secret-agent and action genres.

46) The Lion Guard

Disney’s 1994 classic “The Lion King” is one of the most beloved animated films in the company’s storied history. This follow-up series introduces Simba’s son, fun-loving Kion, who is happy that his sister, Kiara, is destined to rule the Pride Lands. He soon discovers that as the second-born he has his own destiny: to lead the Lion Guard, a team that protects the Pride Lands and defends the Circle of Life. As the leader, Kion receives the Roar of the Elders; a power that makes him the fiercest creature in the land. But he can’t do it alone, so he assembles a team of animals who are brave, strong and fast. His team includes honey badger Bunga, hippo Beshte, cheetah Fuli and egret Ono.

45) Wizards Of Waverly Place

One of most popular Disney Channel series from the noughties, sees Alex, Justin and Max Russo are not your ordinary kids – they’re wizards in training! While their parents run the Waverly Sub Station, the siblings struggle to balance their ordinary lives while learning to master their extraordinary powers.

44) Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy

After the huge success of the live-action movie, this animated series follows the adventures of Star-Lord, the brash adventurer who, to save the universe from its greatest threats, who joins forces with a quartet of disparate misfits — Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Gamora and Drax the Destroyer. If you want some more adventures of this motley crew, this animated series should keep you covered.

43) Vampira

The Emmy® and BAFTA Award-nominated “Vampirina” tells the story of Vampirina (aka Vee), a young vampire girl who is the new kid in town after her family moves from Transylvania to Pennsylvania. The series follows Vee as she faces the trials and tribulations of adjusting to unfamiliar surroundings, including making friends and attending a new school in the human world. At first, Vee tries to adapt, change and blend in with her schoolmates, but ultimately she learns to appreciate her unique individuality and her friends’ too. Blending spooky fun, heartfelt storytelling and Broadway-caliber music, each episode features two 11-minute stories.

42) The Proud Family

“The Proud Family” follows the adventures and misadventures of Penny, a 14-year-old African American girl who’s doing her best to navigate through the early years of teen-dom. Penny’s every encounter inevitably spirals into bigger than life situations filled with hi-jinks, hilarity and heart. Her quest to balance her home, school and social lives are further complicated by friends like the sassy Dijonay, Penny’s nemesis LaCienega Boulevardez, her loving, if not over-protective parents and her hip-to-the-groove-granny, Suga Mama.  A new revival of this series is also due to be coming to Disney+ in 2021.

41) Weird But True

Did you know there are more stars in the universe, than grains of sand on the whole planet?! So weird! National Geographic’s newest season of “Weird But True!” on Disney+ gets even weirder! Children’s entertainers and educators Charlie Engelman and Carly Ciarrocchi host the third season of the Emmy Award-winning series, and this time, they’re embarking on even more imaginative and strange adventures to reveal surprising and interesting facts about the world. Set both in studio and in the field, the award-winning “Weird But True!” integrates a mix of arts and crafts, unbelievable facts and real-life exploration.  The third season is available exclusively on Disney+.

40) Sydney To The Max

Set in the present day with flashbacks to the 1990s, the endearing daughter/father comedy revolves around outgoing middle schooler Sydney Reynolds who lives with her single dad Max in the house he grew up in, along with her free-spirited grandmother Judy. As Sydney navigates becoming a teenager alongside her bestie Olive, Max’s flashbacks of his childhood with his best friend Leo parallel her adventures, illustrating how life’s “growing pains” evolve but don’t really change.

39) Bunk’d

Disney Channel’s family comedy “BUNK’D” follows siblings Emma, Ravi and Zuri Ross as they leave their extravagant New York City penthouse once again to attend Camp Kikiwaka, the rustic summer camp in Maine where their parents met as teenagers.

Note – This title isn’t available in all countries.  It can be found on Netflix in the US.

38) Amphibia

The adventures of 13-year-old, self-centered Anne Boonchuy who is magically transported to the fictitious world of Amphibia, a rural marshland full of frog-people. With the help of an excitable young frog named Sprig, Anne will transform into a hero and discover the first true friendship of her life.

37) Mickey Mouse / The Wonderful World Of Mickey Mouse

In this series of cartoon shorts, Mickey Mouse finds himself in silly situations all around the world! From New York to Paris to Tokyo, Mickey experiences new adventures with his friends! It’s a modern take on the classic Disney characters.    There is also a spinoff series called “The Wonderful World Of Mickey Mouse”, which is a Disney+ exclusive.

36) Tron Rising

TRON: Uprising is part of the TRON franchise and is set between Tron and Tron: Legacy movies, so if you enjoyed the Tron universe, this is worth checking out. A young program named Beck becomes a leader of a revolution in The Grid. Beck is trained by Tron to become a great warrior, teaching him fighting skills and mentoring him as he becomes a powerful leader. Beck’s destiny is to lead a revolution to stop the reign of Clu 2 and his henchman General Tesler, and to lead his home and friends to freedom.

35)  Doc McStuffins

The Peabody and NAACP Award-winning “Doc McStuffins” is an imaginative animated series about Doc McStuffins, a young girl who aspires to be a doctor like her mom and communicates with and heals broken toys and stuffed animals. Showcasing the hallmarks of great Disney storytelling—fantasy and wish fulfillment—the series models compassion and good health for kids aged from 2 to 7.

34) Andi Mack

One of the most important Disney Channel series ever made, with its modern storylines and great cast. Andi is contemplative and artistic and sheltered by overprotective parents. But on the eve of her 13th birthday, Andi’s free-spirited older sister Bex returns home with a revelation that changes everything and sends Andi on an uncharted course of self-discovery.

33) Star vs. The Forces of Evil

The biggest new addition to Disney+ this month, which sees a intergalactic warrior Star Butterfly arrive on Earth to live with the Diaz family. She continues to battle villains throughout the universe and high school, mainly to protect her extremely powerful wand, an object that still confuses her.

32) Sofia The First

The story follows Sofia, an average girl, whose life suddenly changes when her mother marries a king. It depicts how she adjusts to the extraordinary life and makes everyone around her feel special.   Note – This title isn’t available in all regions.

31) Miraculous: Tales Of Ladybug & Cat Noir

In modern-day Paris, teenagers Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste transform into superheroes when evil arises. Marinette transforms into her superhero persona, Ladybug, while Adrien transforms into his superhero persona, Cat Noir, using magical jeweled objects known as the Miraculous.

30) Fancy Nancy

Based on the New York Times bestselling book series, Disney Junior’s animated family comedy “Fancy Nancy” follows six-year-old Nancy Clancy, a high-spirited young girl whose imagination and enthusiasm transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary—from her vast vocabulary to her creative attire.    Geared towards kids ages 2-7, each episode features two 11-minute humorous and heartfelt stories that showcase themes of self-expression, originality and love of family. Young viewers are introduced to the problem-solving power of imagination through the relatable, imperfect Nancy and the comical situations she gets herself into.

29) Milo Murphy’s Law

Milo Murphy is the personification of Murphy’s Law where anything that can go wrong will go wrong. Suffering from Extreme Hereditary Murphy’s Law condition (EHML), Milo always looks to make the best of the cards he’s been dealt and his endless optimism and enthusiasm can turn any catastrophe into a wild adventure. Together, he and his friends will learn that it’s all about a positive attitude and not to sweat the big stuff… and it’s all big stuff.

28) ANT Farm

It features young music prodigy Chyna Parks, who attends high school as part of an Advanced Natural Talents (A.N.T.) program. Chyna and fellow A.N.T. participants Olive and Fletcher must make the most of their high school experience, despite the decidedly lukewarm welcome from their fellow students, including Chyna’s older brother, Cameron.

27) Muppets Babies

More than 30 years after the Muppet Babies first won the hearts of kids and families around the world, Disney Junior’s reimagined television series chronicles the hilarious playroom antics of a young Kermit the Frog, Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, Animal and Summer Penguin. Under the watchful eye of Miss Nanny, the Muppet Babies use their imaginations to embark on countless adventures that take them to the farthest corners of the universe and demonstrate to young viewers the power and potential of imaginative play.  If your little ones love this show, why not try them on the newest show, “Muppets Now” which is exclusive to Disney+.

26) Puppy Dog Pals

Fun-loving pug puppies, brothers Bingo and Rolly, have thrill-seeking appetites that take them on exhilarating adventures in their neighborhood and around the globe. Whether helping their owner Bob, assisting a friend in need or exploring with their pal Keia, the pugs’ motto is that life is more exciting with your best friend by your side. Each episode features two 11-minute stories that showcase Bingo and Rolly’s similarities and differences while demonstrating positive lessons about friendship, problem-solving, collaboration, creativity and adventure.  This is one of the most popular kids shows available on Disney+.

25) LEGO Star Wars The Freemaker Adventures

Set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, The Freemaker Adventures centers on a family of three young siblings—young boy Rowan, his sister Kordi, and their brother Zander—known as the Freemakers, who salvage parts from destroyed or damaged ships which they use to build new ones, which they sell in order to make their living. If you enjoyed the artistic style of LEGO movies or video games, this series could be right up your street.

24)  T.O.T.S

“T.O.T.S.,” a heartfelt animated comedy series for kids age 2-7, explores the hilarious adventures of best friends Pip and Freddy, a tenacious penguin and a kind-hearted flamingo, who are the only non-stork delivery birds in-training at Tiny Ones Transport Service (T.O.T.S.). As new members of the esteemed team, these junior flyers must take tender care in taking baby animals from the nursery to their forever families around the globe. Each episode features two 11-minute stories that highlight the use of creative thinking and problem solving to model for young viewers that there isn’t just one way to achieve a goal.

23)  The Rocketeer

Disney Junior’s “The Rocketeer” follows Kit, a young girl who receives a surprise package on her birthday revealing she’s next in line to become the Rocketeer, a legendary superhero who has the ability to fly with the help of a rocket-pack. Armed with her cool new gear and secret identity, Kit is ready to take flight and save the day with her gadget-minded best friend, Tesh, and Butch the bulldog by her side. Inspired by Dave Stevens’ popular comic book series and the subsequent 1991 Walt Disney Pictures feature film (which is also on Disney+) and geared towards kids 2-7 and their families, each episode of “The Rocketeer” features two 11-minute stories and includes an original song.

22) Good Luck Charlie

One of the few Disney Channel sitcoms that appeals to families, not just for children. It focuses on a Denver family, the Duncans, as they try to adjust to the births of their fourth and fifth children, Charlotte “Charlie” Duncan and Toby Duncan. In each episode, Teddy Duncan creates a video diary containing advice for Charlie about their family and life as a teenager, with each video diary ends with Teddy saying the eponymous phrase, “Good luck, Charlie”. One of the few sitcoms available currently on Disney+.

21) Raven’s Home

“That’s So Raven” for a new generation of kids, tweens and families. Raven will both executive produce and reprise her role of the fan-favorite character Raven Baxter, who is now a divorced mother to two kids (a son and daughter), one of whom has inherited her ability to catch glimpses of the future. The original series “That’s So Raven” is also on Disney+.

20) PJ Masks

During the day, Amaya, Connor and Greg lead totally normal lives, but they transform into superheroes during the night and use their powers to fight villains and solve mysteries.

19) Big City Greens

The offbeat adventures of 10-year-old Cricket Green, a mischievous and optimistic country boy who moves to the big city with his wildly out of place family – older sister Tilly, father Bill and Gramma Alice.

18) Hannah Montana

One of the biggest Disney Channel shows of all time and a perfect way to see Miley Cyrus growing up. The show tells the story of Miley Stewart, a typical teenager, but when the lights go down, and the curtain goes up, she emerges as the glamorous and talented Hannah Montana. Having the “Best of Both Worlds” is a complicated proposition, and keeping her identity under wraps leads Miley and her friends into some hilarious capers as she tries to balance her normal life with her rock star persona.

17) Diary Of A Female President

In this Disney+ series “Diary of a Future President,” we see the origin story of a future leader. Told using the narration of 12-year-old Cuban American girl Elena’s diary, this new family comedy follows her journey through the ups and downs of middle school, which set her on the path to becoming the president of the United States.  A second season is currently being filmed and should be available on Disney+ later this year.

16) High School Musical: The Musical – The Series

This drama series has become my non-so secret guilty pleasure on Disney+. A group of East High students countdown to the opening night of their school’s first-ever production of “High School Musical.” Showmances blossom; friendships are tested while new ones are made; rivalries flare and lives are changed forever as these young people discover the transformative power that only a high school drama club can provide. This is one series not to skip.

15) Rapunzel Tangled Adventures

Set between the stories told in Walt Disney Animation Studios’ acclaimed film “Tangled” and its short film “Tangled Ever After,” this visually vibrant animated adventure-comedy series unfolds as Rapunzel acquaints herself with her parents, her kingdom and the people of Corona. Her irrepressible spirit and natural curiosity about the world lead her to realize that there is so much more she needs to learn before she can accept her royal destiny. So, she boldly puts her coronation on hold to instead seek epic adventures, much to the dismay of the king who, after missing out on Rapunzel’s youth, must accept that his daughter is now an independent young woman. But when her long blonde hair suddenly grows back, she must accept its magical qualities and all that it represents. Accompanying Rapunzel on her journey are Eugene (FKA Flynn Rider); her loyal chameleon sidekick, Pascal; her no-nonsense, dutiful horse, Maximus; the Snuggly Duckling Pub Thugs; and newcomer Cassandra, a tough-as-nails lady-in-waiting who becomes Rapunzel’s confidante.

14) The Suite Life of Zack & Cody

This classic Disney Channel sitcom tells the story of two 11 year-old identical twins called Zack and Cody, who are the newest residents of Boston’s swanky Tipton Hotel. Living in a suite with their mom Carey, the boys treat the tipton like their own personal playground.

13) Big Hero 6: The Series

This series is a sequel to the animated classic and follows Hiro as he now faces daunting academic challenges and the social trials of being the little man on campus. Off campus, the stakes are raised for the high-tech heroes as they must protect their city from an array of scientifically enhanced villains. Though the animation style is slightly different, for fans of the movie, this is worth looking into.

12) Spider-Man: Maximum Venom

The web-slinging series follows Peter Parker, who is learning to navigate life as the teenage superhero Spider-Man. Now going into his third year at Horizon High, Peter is confident he can handle anything that comes his way, but he’s pushed to his breaking point when Venom summons an earth-shattering threat from its home planet.   There are many different Spider-Man series available on Disney+, so if your child loves Spider-Man, there is plenty to choose from.

11) The Owl House

“The Owl House” is an animated fantasy-comedy series that follows Luz, a self-assured teenage girl who accidentally stumbles upon a portal to a magical world where she befriends a rebellious witch, Eda, and an adorably tiny warrior, King. Despite not having magical abilities, Luz pursues her dream of becoming a witch by serving as Eda’s apprentice at the Owl House and ultimately finds a new family in an unlikely setting.

10)  Star Wars Rebels

Set between the events of Star Wars: Episodes III and IV, when the evil Galactic Empire is tightening its grip of power on the galaxy. The motley crew of the starship Ghost make a stand against the Empire. And together, they will face threatening new villains, encounter colorful adversaries, embark on thrilling adventures, and become heroes with the power to ignite a rebellion. If you are a fan of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, this is a must watch and also helps fill in those gaps between the two trilogies.

9) Legend Of The Three Caballeros

This animated series featuring Donald Duck, Jóse Carioca and Panchito Pistoles is only available on Disney+. The trio find themselves inheritors of a heroic legacy, and resume their ancestors’ quest with the aid of a valiant Greek goddess.

8) Elena Of Avalor

The story of a brave teenager who has saved her kingdom from an evil sorceress and must now learn to rule as a crown princess until she’s old enough to be queen. This show features positive messages for young viewers, but is still enjoyable for all ages.  The third and final season is coming to Disney+ in January 2021.

7) Bluey

Bluey follows the adventures of a lovable and inexhaustible six-year-old Blue Heeler puppy who lives with her dad, mum and four-year-old little sister, Bingo. In every episode, Bluey uses her limitless Blue Heeler energy to play elaborate games that unfold in unpredictable and hilarious ways.

6) Jessie

This Disney Channel live-action series brings an idealistic teen from rural Texas embarks on the adventure of a lifetime when she decides to leave behind starry nights for big city lights. Thrilled to be on her own and determined not to be intimidated by New York City, she accepts a job as nanny for a high-profile couple with four kids. Helping to keep her moral compass in check are Bertram, the family’s butler, and Tony, the building’s 20-year-old doorman.  It’s one of the most popular Disney Channel shows on Disney+.

5) Phineas & Ferb

Each day, two kindhearted suburban stepbrothers on summer vacation embark on some grand new project, which annoys their controlling sister, Candace, who tries to bust them. Meanwhile, their pet platypus plots against evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz. This is one of the best animation series from recent times and with the new Disney+ Original movie coming soon, this is a perfect opportunity to catch up on the adventures of Phineas and Ferb.

4) Gravity Falls

This series is all about twin brother and sister Dipper and Mabel Pines, who end up on an unexpected adventure when they spend the summer helping their great uncle Stan run a tourist trap in the mysterious town of Gravity Falls, Oregon. This is one of the best modern Disney channel animated series, that is great for adults and children alike.

3) Ducktales

This animated series chronicles the high-flying adventures of Duckburg’s most famous trillionaire Scrooge McDuck; his mischief-making triplet grandnephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie; temperamental nephew, Donald Duck; and the trusted McDuck Manor team: big-hearted, fearless chauffer/pilot Launchpad McQuack, no-nonsense housekeeper Mrs. Beakley and Mrs. Beakley’s granddaughter, Webby Vanderquack, resident adventurer and the triplet’s fierce friend.  There are also many seasons from the classic 1990s version, which your little ones might enjoy as well.

2) Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

The story follows Mickey and Donald as they embark on a trip through a fairytale wonderland in search of Daisy’s cuckoo bird, with their journey bringing them face to face with such figures as Goofy Hatter, Queen Clarabelle, and Tweedle Chip and Tweedle Dale.  This title is one of the most popular series on Disney+

1) Star Wars: The Clone Wars

This series fills in the story between “Attack of the Clones” and “Revenge Of The Sith”, where Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Mace Windu and other Jedi Knights lead the Grand Army of the Republic against the droid army of the Separatists. The 7th season of the show will be a Disney+ exclusive and with over a hundred episodes,  this is one of the most binge-worthy shows on Disney+.  It’s can easily be enjoyed by Star Wars fans of all ages, but is ultimately suited to
