101 Dalmatians

The Live action adaptation of a Disney Classic. When a litter of dalmatian puppies are abducted by the minions of Cruella De Vil, the parents must find them before she uses them for a diabolical fashion statement.  This movie stars Glenn Close as the evil Cruella De Vil and was so popular, they made a sequel!

102 Dalmatians

Once you’ve watched 101 Dalmatians, you can continue the story with its sequel, where you can get ready for a howling good time as an all new assortment of irresistible animal heroes are unleashed in this great family tail! In an unlikely alliance, the outrageous Waddlesworth… a parrot who thinks he’s a Rottweiler… teams up with Oddball… an un-marked Dalmation puppy eager to earn her spots! Together they embark on a laugh-packed quest to outwit the ever-scheming Cruella De Vil

101 Dalmatian Street

This new animated series is based on the classic animated series, but with a modern twist, with all new characters.  It consists of over 50 episodes and while this series technically isn’t a Disney+ Original, the only place you can see it in the US and Canada is on Disney+.    This is a highlight for younger members of the family.

Because of Winn Dixie

A girl, abandoned by her mother when she was three, moves to a small town in Florida with her father. There, she adopts an orphaned dog she names Winn-Dixie. The bond between the girl and her special companion brings together the people in a small Florida town and heals her own troubled relationship with her father.

Bluey

Bluey is an inexhaustible six year-old Blue Heeler dog, who loves to play and turns everyday family life into extraordinary adventures, developing her imagination as well as her mental, physical and emotional resilience.  This popular Australian animated series will no doubt keep the little ones entertained.

Bolt

Bolt is the star of the biggest show in Hollywood. The only problem is, he thinks it’s real. After he’s accidentally shipped to New York City and separated from Penny, his beloved co-star and owner, Bolt must harness all his “super powers” to find a way home.  This movie is often overlooked by many Disney fans, but its got some great moments, plus Rhino is super cute.

Cesar Millan: Dog Whisperer

Cesar Millan has been called the Dr. Phil for Dogs. With an uncanny ability to rehabilitate problem dogs of all shapes and sizes. Each episode of the Dog Whisperer documents the remarkable transformations that take place under Cesar’s guidance and teaching, helping dogs and their owners live happier lives together.

Dog: Impossible

If you are in need of some help dealing with your dog, this series sees dog behaviour specialist Matt Beisner and his team help owners learn how to handle their aggressive and misunderstood animals, and rescue and rehabilitate dogs from local shelters that have been turned away by other facilities.

Kitbull

Kitbull is my favourite Sparkshort from Pixar and tells the story of an unlikely connection sparks between two creatures: a fiercely independent stray kitten and a pit bull. Together, they experience friendship for the first time. For animal lovers, this one is gonna make you cry.  It was also nominated for an Oscar!

Lady and the Tramp (Live Action)

This adorable live-action retelling of the animated classic from the 1950’s tells the love story between a pampered Cocker Spaniel named Lady and a streetwise mongrel named Tramp. “Lady and the Tramp” is a lovely family friendly movie, it’s simple, but effective. It’s not anything groundbreaking or original, it might not have worked at the cinema, but it’s the perfect Disney+ movie, as it’s a fun enjoyable film to sit down at home, grab some snacks, pull the blanket over, since its fun, full of cute dogs and has a simple love story.

Lady and the Tramp (Animated)

If you would prefer the original animated movie, that is also available.  Lady, a golden cocker spaniel, meets up with a mongrel dog who calls himself the Tramp. He is obviously from the wrong side of town, but happenings at Lady’s home make her decide to travel with him for a while.

My Dog The Thief

As ratings for Jack Crandall’s lifeless airborne traffic reports plummet, a super-size St. Bernard on the lam stows away in his chopper. Crandall’s new co-pilot helps send ratings sky-high, but the canine’s chronic kleptomania generates girl trouble, jewel thievery, and loads of laughs.

Old Yeller

A classic from the 1950’s, which sees Young Travis Coates left to take care of the family ranch with his mother and younger brother while his father goes off on a cattle drive in the 1860s. When a yellow mongrel comes for an uninvited stay with the family, Travis reluctantly adopts the dog.

One Hundred and One Dalmatians

This classic animated movie tells the story of a litter of dalmatian puppies who are abducted by the minions of Cruella De Vil, the parents must find them before she uses them for a diabolical fashion statement.

Pick of the Litter

A docu-series based on the film of the same name, featuring the stories of service animals, their trainers, and their human companions. Follow the six loveable dogs ; Paco, Pacino, Tulane, Raffi, Amara, and Tartan as they embark on a fascinating and suspenseful quest to become Guide Dogs For the Blind, the ultimate canine career.  As someone who has done Guide Dog Puppy Walking as a kid, I’ve found this series to be very educational, plus it’s got lots of cute puppies, so that gives it a bonus point!

The Shaggy D.A

Wilby Daniels, a successful lawyer running for District Attorney, suddenly finds himself being transformed into an English sheepdog. Somehow he has to keep his change a secret and find just what is causing it, all the while eluding the local dog catcher.

The Ugly Dachshund

Another classic Disney film from the 1960’s.  The Garrisons are the “proud parents” of three adorable dachshund pups – and one overgrown Great Dane named Brutus, who nevertheless thinks of himself as a dainty dachsie. His identity crisis results in an uproarious series of household crises that reduce the Garrisons’ house to shambles – and viewers to howls of laughter!

Togo

The untold true story set in the winter of 1925 that takes you across the treacherous terrain of the Alaskan tundra for an exhilarating and uplifting adventure that will test the strength, courage and determination of one man, Leonhard Seppala, and his lead sled dog, Togo.

Turner & Hooch

Scott Turner has 3 days left in the local police department before he moves to a bigger city to get some ‘real’ cases—not just misdemeanors. When Amos Reed is murdered, Scott sets himself on the case, but the closest thing to a witness to the murder is Reed’s dog, Hooch, which Scott has to take care of—to avoid Hooch being ‘put to sleep’.

World’s Greatest Dogs

Athletic, playful and loving, our canine companions are extraordinary animals. From acrobatics to breathtaking stunts, skateboarding to riding a scooter, and rope jumping to surfing, this special celebrates amazing dogs and their dedicated owners, and reveals how some underdogs tuned from rejected puppy to thriving star.
