It’s the first weekend since Disney+ has launched and if you have got completely overwhelmed over the shire amount of content available on the new streaming service and  you’re wondering what to watch, here are my top 10 suggestions that you can sit back and enjoy.

10) Dumbo

This recently released live action retelling of the classic animated movie, Dumbo, is a unknown gem.  Many people passed it when it was released in cinemas earlier this year, but sitting at home and enjoying this lovely tale of Dumbo is a great way of killing two hours.  It’s a fun, family film that shouldn’t be overlooked.

9) The Legend of the Three Caballeros

This animated series has been lost within the Walt Disney Company for years and has finally been given a proper release.  The series follows Donald Duck and his amigos, Jose Carioca and Panchito.  Its another hidden gem that hasn’t been given the correct amount of publicity from Disney and if we want to see more Donald Duck adventures, people need to watch it on Disney+.  So give an episode a try.

8) High School Musical: The Musical – The Series

This brand new drama series from the Disney Channel is become a guilty pleasure of mine this week, currently there are just two episodes available, with more coming each Friday.  I’m loving the teenage drama, the mock-documentary style, which breaks the fourth wall, in addition to a great cast and fantastic music.   It’s worth checking out the first episode if you haven’t already.

7) Avengers Endgame

The biggest movie of all time has arrived on Disney+ for launch, as the biggest cast of superheroes return to sort out Thanos after the events of Infinity War (unless you’re in the Netherlands, you’ll need to watch that on Netflix until next year.

6) Gordon Ramsey Uncharted

This was a series I’ve been watching to watch, since I’m a fan of the British chef, but the first episode sees Gordon head to Peru, where he meets a “mad potato scientist,” cooks in a mud oven, and scales a towering cliff face in search of a rare herb.  Having access to some great series of National Geographic is a huge benefit for Disney+ and worth checking out that section.

5) Frozen

With Frozen 2 hitting theaters over Thanksgiving, this might be a good time to catch up on the events of the original and revisit the story of Elsa, Anna and Olaf.  Though if your child has been watching it on repeat ever since Disney+ launched (and someone on our Facebook Group has been having that problem), you might want to “Let It Go”.

4) Brave

This one is a little more random, but its a personal favourite of mine that has some fantastic music and sees Mérida deal with the after effects of her actions, when she accidentally turns her mother and triple brothers into bears.    A fun action packed Princess movie with a difference.

3) Amphiba

This new animated series came to the Disney Channel in the summer and is on my personal watch list.  The show follows the adventures of 13-year-old, self-centered Anne Boonchuy who is magically transported to the fictitious world of Amphibia, a rural marshland full of frog-people. With the help of an excitable young frog named Sprig, Anne will transform into a hero and discover the first true friendship of her life.

2) Lady & The Tramp

This live action retelling of the animated classic is a Disney+ Original and can only be seen on the new streaming service, so no need to head to the cinema to watch the latest Disney movie.  It’s full of cute dogs and is an adorable family friendly film, that is worth checking out.

1) The Mandalorian

The biggest series on Disney+, the Mandalorian is the first live action Star Wars series and follows a Bounty Hunter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.  The first two episodes are available now and if you like the Star Wars movies, you’ve got to check this series out.

Nice recommendations. Hmmm... What would I have picked for a rec list? 1. A classic Mickey Mouse cartoon ("Mickey's Trailer", perhaps) 2. The Mandalorian (it was awesome!) 3. Olaf's Frozen Adventure (because everyone has seen Frozen and this is a cute "sequel") 4. The Imagineering Story (love this documentary) 5. Agent Carter (many Marvel fans haven't had a chance to see this yet) 6. An episode of Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers (hits me right in the nostalgia) 7. That Darn Cat (great example of Disney cheesy goodness that most people probably haven't seen) 8. Sleeping Beauty (The animated classic is so beautiful!) 9. Kitbull (really well done short - it deserves to be cooed over) 10. Brain Games (haven't seen it, but want to)
