Fans have their gripes about Disney Plus—such as hundreds of missing Disney-owned titles and not having enough options for audiences over age 12.

Still, TV animation is where Disney Plus excels, as the streamer features dozens of shows produced since the 1980’s. Or is it? Those who grew up watching these cartoon series—along with a few live-action shows—enjoy them for nostalgia. Yet newer fans often have trouble following along.

That’s because episodes for several shows are listed out-of-order. In some cases, episodes aired out-of-order to begin with so only show creators and sharp-eyed fans can catch where the issues are. To their credit, Disney+ has already reordered DuckTales (2017) and Phineas and Ferb following months of complaints from fans and show creators.

Listed alphabetically by title, the following 26 shows currently need episodes reordered to invite new fans in to storylines and be truly binge-worthy. Six shows have now been corrected, added to a section at end of this list. Data compiled in part by blogger Drew Ryan.

Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes (2010-2012)

Season 2 episode 15 is listed as Season 2 Episode 26, the series finale. It was not aired last in any country.  The proper order for season 1 should be the current episodes 3, 4 ,5 6, 7, 1, 2.

Bonkers (1993-1994)

Episodes 46 and 47 should be re-ordered as the pilot episodes. They are the introduction to the characters and show.

Chip ‘n’ Dale Rescue Rangers (1989-1990)

Episodes 13-17 should be re-ordered as the pilot episodes. They are the introduction to the characters and show. This show is also posted in the wrong aspect ratio.

Darkwing Duck (1991-1992)

Season 1 episodes 29 and 30 are pilot episodes, should be reordered as episodes 1 and 2. They are the introduction to the characters and show.

Even Stevens (2000-2003)

It’s currently in neither air order nor production order. Ideally, episodes should be re-sorted into production order.

Fantastic Four: World’s Greatest Heroes (2006-2010)

Episode 3 the pilot should be reordered to Episode 1. The rest should be in production order since the storyline is ruined otherwise.

Fish Hooks (2010-2013)

The current Episode 4 should be listed first, it introduces the characters as the pilot. Episode 13 of Season 3 should be reordered to the last one, as it is the series finale.

Girl Meets World (2014-2017)

Episodes should be re-sorted into production order for minor story beats and continuity that are evident in binge viewing.

Iron Man Armored Adventures (2008-2010)

The show’s current Episode 5 and Episode 6 should be switched in order.

Kim Possible (2002-2007)

The current order has messed up several storylines and callbacks. Episodes should be reordered to what fans have compiled as the correct chronological order. Importantly, the pilot episode “Tick Tick Tick” is currently listed as Episode 4.

King Fishers (2013)

Currently all ten episodes are in a random order, and should be re-sorted to air order.

Liv and Maddie (2013-2017)

Episodes should be re-sorted into production order for minor story beats and continuity that are evident in binge viewing.

Lizzie McGuire (2001-2004)

The current Season 1 Episode 4 should be episode 1. Season 2 episode 24 should be season 2 episode 34 (the last one). These are the most crucial changes as these are the pilot and series finale. Currently, show storylines don’t make sense. The final season is particularly unwatchable. Reordering episodes in production order would fix all issues.

Phil of the Future (2004-2006)

Season 1 episode 10 is the pilot, so it should be reordered as episode 1. It introduces the show. Currently, show storylines don’t make sense. Reordering episodes in production order would fix all issues.

Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja (2012-2015)

The episodes are combined with segments they didn’t air with. Ideally, episodes should be re-sorted into production order.

Shake It Up (2010-2013)

Episodes should be re-sorted into production order for minor story beats and continuity that are evident in binge viewing.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008-2020)

For years, this series has required the official Star Wars website to promote how to watch the show in chronological order.

The Suite Life Zack and Cody (2005-2008)

Episodes should be resorted into production order, as current order confuses some ongoing plot lines.

Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go (2004-2006)

Two episodes are currently misplaced. Season 1 episode 26 should be between 23 and 24. In season 2, episodes 9 and 10 need to be flipped. This show is also posted in the wrong aspect ratio.

That’s So Raven (2003-2007)

Episodes should be resorted into production order, as current order confuses some ongoing plot lines.

Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-2012)

Episodes should be re-sorted into production order for minor story beats and continuity that are evident in binge viewing. For instance, current Episode 10 should be between Episodes 1 and 2.

X-Men: The Animated Series (1992-1997)

Seasons 2 through 5 are not in any logical order, with seasons 3 and 4 being the most egregious. Storylines are currently jumbled nonsense. The series was plagued with production problems, meaning that episodes aired out of chronological order. Marvel Comics released its own guide noting an official chronological order for the series.

X-men: Evolution (2000-2003)

Season 3 episode 13 should be between episodes 9 and 10.  It was not produced as the finale, but aired in the wrong order.

Shows With Previous Issues Corrected

Austin and Ally (2011-2016)

FIXED 8/10/20. The final two episodes are in wrong order. They aired right and Amazon Prime has them right.

DuckTales (1987-1990)

FIXED 3/7/21. Season 1 Episodes 37 – 41 first aired combined as a movie pilot and introduce the characters and show. They need to be moved to the front of season 1. The rest of the show should be in production order.

Goof Troop (1992-1993)

FIXED 3/7/21. Season 1 episode 34 should be episode 2. It aired combined with season 1 episode 1 as the pilot. The show is also posted in the wrong aspect ratio.

Hercules: The Animated Series (1998-1999)

FIXED 3/7/21. The show’s current Episode 11 aired as the pilot and should be Episode 1.

Recess (1997-2001)

FIXED 11/15/20. The series is missing seven episodes currently: “Stand Up Randall,” “The Shiner,” “Lord of the Nerds,” “That Stinking Feeling,” “My Funny Valentines,” “The Ratings Game” (all from season 3), and “Partners in Crime” (from season 4).

TaleSpin (1990-1991)

FIXED 3/7/21. Episodes 34 – 37 should be reordered as the pilot episodes. These episodes introduce the show and characters. Two episodes are missing: “Last Horizons” and “Flying Dupes.”

Tangled the Series (2017-2020)

FIXED 11/15/20. Season 2 episodes 17 and 18 need to be swapped. They aired in the right order and Amazon Prime has them right.

Schoolhouse Rock (1973-2009)

Episodes should be sorted into seasons, according to content theme.

Spider-Man The Animated Series (1994-1998)

Currently, five seasons are combined as one. They should be split.

Thanks again to blogger Drew Ryan for his work compiling all this information.

This is very helpful, Thanks for posting this article! Though if a show's episode order has already been fixed (like the series currently listed above as this comment is being posted, e.g. Recess, Austin & Alley, Tangled the Series), I think they should be removed from this list and have the number in the title edited, much like how the List of Over 600 Properties has been updated on this site. Make it less confusing in case people are taking a quick glance at this article.

      I agree!

    1. DrewsClues January 29, 2021

Does it matter to story at all? Was there continuity?

  9. GhaztMaster January 30, 2021

the finale to jim henson's dinosaurs is in the middle of the final season rather than the end.

  10. Adam March 8, 2021

How come you don’t have the 2 Ghost Rider movies on Disney + ?

    1. DrewviesMovies March 9, 2021

because they aren't owned by Disney, they're owned by Sony.

  11. Chris March 9, 2021

Hercules: The Animated Series can be added to the list of "Shows With Previous Issues Corrected." I browsed through the episodes, and it looks like they finally moved the pilot to the top of Season 1.

    1. DrewviesMovies April 21, 2021

Nope. they resorted it by air order, Hercules and the first Day of School went from episode 11 to 12. they have only made it worse. The pilot is still not listed as #1.

  12. taj1994 March 21, 2021

Futurama has at least a few episodes out of order. I'm not able to list them at the moment though

  13. Aaron March 29, 2021

It appears the UK is missing Rapunzle's Tangled Adventure seasons 2 and 3 completely at the moment. Also the rest of the new DuckTales Season 3, although maybe the rest is coming later as the finale literally just aired in the US.

  14. Alex March 29, 2021

Not a show, but "Marvel Cinematic Universe in Timeline Order" is out of order. Ironman 3 takes place before Thor: Dark World, but Disney+ has it the other way around.

  15. TJ March 31, 2021

Disney plus have the wrong names on all the Castle episodes in season 4, The names are randomly put on the wrong episodes. But it’s only season 4, all other seasons have the right names.

  16. Sam April 29, 2021

THE Disney Jr. Show The Rocketeer is also out of chronological order. It shows Kit in flight school before the episodes where she first starts attending.

    1. DrewviesMovies May 17, 2021

They aired it out of order? Which episodes would need to be moved to fix that? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rocketeer_(TV_series) Something tells me they won't fix anything that aired in wrong order. They don't seem willing / able.

  17. Christopher May 17, 2021

Think you may need to re-edit this article, some of the images are under the wrong titles (e.g. Schoolhouse Rock has the image for Shake It Up, Shake it Up has the image for Spider-Man, Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja has the image for Schoolhouse Rock)

  18. aj May 21, 2021

I think there’s something that should be added to this big city greens season two it’s very messed up chip Pacalypse and it’s pretty cool episode are at the very edge Of the season on opposite sides

  19. Nathan Gamerdog May 22, 2021

It's weird that on streaming services most of the shows that have the correct Episode orders is the original series

  20. Nathan Gamerdog May 28, 2021

Why isn't there a list last updated date on this article?

  21. Lissy Darby June 4, 2021

Felicity Season 3 Episode listed as episode 14 The Break-Up Kit should actually be episode 13 and episode 13 The Blackout should be episode 14. They are out of order. I picked up this error when watching the recap.

  22. Nathan Gamerdog June 25, 2021

Recess Seasons 3-6 are all merged into 1
