Next week sees the first episode of the final season of “The Walking Dead” released on Star On Disney+ in the United Kingdom, Ireland and in some other European countries.

To celebrate the launch of the show, a string quartet stopped London commuter’s dead in their tracks earlier this morning as they performed a rendition of The Walking Dead’s iconic soundtrack.

London city workers and cyclists looked on in surprise as living dead members of leading chamber orchestra the Covent Garden Sinfonia performed at Piccadilly Circus and under the London Eye along the South Bank of the Thames river.

The otherworldly buskers set out to shock passers-by and were rehearsing ahead of a full orchestra performance donning makeup inspired by walkers, that will play at the premiere of the first episode of season 11 of the iconic show.

The Walking Dead inspired orchestra plan to strike fear into fans attending the unique screening at Kings Place Concert Hall on the evening of Thursday 19th August.

The Covent Garden Sinfonia quartet, led by conductor Ben Palmer, will be given a monstrous makeover for the red-carpet event.

Ben’s versatile musicians previously performed John Williams’ Oscar-winning score for the movie ‘E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial’ at a sell-out Royal Albert Hall concert.

Ben Palmer, Artistic Director of Covent Garden Sinfonia said:

“We decided to give Londoners an early morning wake-up call today with our quartet of musicians inspired by walkers. The score to The Walking Dead is one those iconic themes that instantly transports you to the universe of the show, and we’re looking forward to celebrating the launch of the final season.”

Season 11 of The Walking Dead will be the grand finale of the terrifying TV series and airs on Star on Disney + from August 23rd and fans have a chance to join celebrities, influencers and media at the special screening.

To be in with a chance to win a VIP experience at the orchestral premiere email*. The competition is strictly open for those aged over 18 and runs from 9 am Monday 16th August until 9 am on Wednesday 18th August.

As a huge fan I am so disappointed that season 11 is exclusively on Disney+ I have Virgin media, Netflix, amazon prime and Now TV and cannot afford to pay for yet another service. Gutted.
