Earlier this month, Disney updated the release date for the upcoming Disney+ Original movie, “The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild”, within the app in several countries across Europe, Asia and in the Pacific. Moving the release date from Friday 28th January 2022 until Friday 25th March 2022.

However, this wasn’t the case in the United States and Canada, where the film was still showing within the Disney+ app as the original January date and just this week, Disney continued to promote the movie as coming in January.

Today, Disney has actively started promoting the film on social media accounts with the new March release date for Europe.

“The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild” continues the hilarious escapades of the beloved sub-zero heroes from the wildly successful global “Ice Age” franchise as they create more prehistoric pandemonium. Eager for a little independence, the thrill-seeking possum brothers Crash, and Eddie set out to find a place of their own, but quickly find themselves trapped beneath the ice in a massive cave inhabited by dinosaurs. They are rescued by the one-eyed, adventure-loving weasel Buck Wild, and together, with the help of some new friends, embark on a mission to save the Lost World from dinosaur domination.

It’s very disappointing to see a Disney+ Original film has been delayed in some countries.  This is one of the first major Disney+ Originals to not be released simultaneously worldwide.  It’s not uncommon for some countries to get some Disney+ Originals later, as there have been logistic issues with getting the subtitles and dubbing sorted for other languages during the pandemic.

Though I’m pretty sure people in the UK and Australia understand English, so why the film has been delayed in English speaking countries seems odd, plus the main character, Buck Wild is played by a British actor, Simon Pegg. I’ve reached out to Disney for clarification when the date change was discovered, but they haven’t responded.

It’s certainly disappointing for Disney+ subscribers in some countries, who are now going to have to wait two more months to watch “The Ice Age Adventures Of Buck Wild”.

What do you think of this delay?
