As Disney’s existing streaming contracts slowly come to an end, new content is now becoming available for Disney+ and Hulu.  The latest big series to become available is “The Fosters”, which will be leaving Netflix in July.  This is because Netflix only had the rights to this ABC show for two years after the final season.

The show focuses Stef Foster and her life partner, Lena Adams, go through several ups and downs while struggling to raise their children in San Diego.   The series consists of 104 episodes across 5 seasons from 2013 until 2018.  It’s been available on Netflix for a few years, but originally debuted on ABC Family, before the channel was renamed Freeform.

With the show having a TV-14 rating and some more mature themes, it might seem like a better fit for Hulu.  However, since Disney+ does have some teenage oriented shows like “The Runaways” and is trying to establish itself as having something for older viewers, it’s possible it could appear there too.  Disney could even make the show available on both platforms.

Would you like to see “The Fosters” on Disney+ or Hulu?

I would like to see The Fosters on D+. Hopefully they’ll soon add Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Modern Family, Once Upon a Time, and Malcolm in the Middle on D+

Me too, and hopefully Disney can add more Freeform shows onto Disney+ as well (the ones they own) like Cloak and Dagger, Shadowhunters, Good Trouble (which is a spin off of The Fosters), Kyle XY, Siren, Grownish, Make It Or Break It, 10 Things I Hate About You (the 2009 TV series), Ruby & the Rockits, Melissa & Joey, Huge, Switched At Birth, The Nine Lives of Chloe King, State of Georgia, Jane by Design, Bunheads, Baby Daddy, Twisted, Chasing Life, Young & Hungry, Stitchers, Recovery Road, Dead of Summer, and Alone Together.

Considering the Love, Simon spinoff was sent to Hulu, I don't think shows like Siren and Twisted are going to show up on D+. Cloak and Dagger was a Hulu-first show and its covering topics like addiction, alcohol, domestic abuse and human trafficking makes it hard to move onto D+ at least for now.

You make some very valid points and i agree with what you're saying, i'm not saying that Disney should take Cloak and Dagger off of Hulu and move it to Disney+ only, like what the article said "Runaways" which was a Hulu Original is on both Disney+ & Hulu, if Disney does that with Cloak and Dagger than its win-win situation at the end of the day but you're absolutely right with what Cloak and Dagger covered may not be suitable for Disney+ right now but considering a lot of Marvel content is already available on Disney+ (with more stuff being added in the near future) Cloak and Dagger is just one missing piece of the Marvel puzzle that needs to be added on to Disney+ asap. The same can be said to other Freeform shows and you're right about that as well, their are themes in those shows that are not suitable for younger audiences but if they have them on both services Disney+ can just add a Disclaimer onto those titles like they have done to some of their older stuff and it would make a very smart strategy move.
