Disney+ has had another movie removed from its library in the US, with 2006’s The Finest Hours, now being reported missing by members of our Disney Plus Facebook Group.

Earlier this month a number of titles were removed from Disney+ in the US including Home Alone, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and many more.  Many of these titles were added to other streaming platforms, such as Fubo TV, because they had existing contracts in place before Disney+ launched.

However some titles that have been removed have been added back onto Disney+ including Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers, Avalon High and Never Been Kissed.  So it’s possible that “The Finest Hours” will be added back onto Disney+ soon, since it could just be a technical issue.

There is however going to be a time in the future when “The Finest Hours” will be probably removed from Disney+ in the US, as all movies from 2016 to 2018, will have to go back to Netflix for a short period from 2025.  This is due to an existing contract with Netflix for the “Pay “ window, unless Netflix and Disney are able to work on a deal before then.

If “The Finest Hours” has been removed for a short period, since all titles will eventually be available on Disney+ once existing contracts have expired, Disney needs to start being more proactive in letting subscribers know what is leaving soon.

Again, these contracts are generally affecting US subscribers, due to different licensing contracts.  Hopefully “The Finest Hours” will be available again in the US soon.

Disney Plus sucks in the US right now. Many broken promises and disappointments. two months in they haven't really added any new features that people need or want and the library isn't growing at a good pace.
