Disney has announced that the first eight episodes from the third season of the hit Disney Channel show “Sydney To The Max” will be coming to Disney+ in the United States on Friday 28th May. No international release date has yet been confirmed.
Set in the present day with flashbacks to the 1990s, the endearing daughter/father comedy revolves around outgoing middle schooler Sydney Reynolds who lives with her single dad Max in the house he grew up in, along with her free-spirited grandmother Judy. As Sydney navigates being a teenager alongside her bestie Olive, Max’s flashbacks of his childhood with his best friend Leo parallel her adventures, illustrating how life’s “growing pains” evolve but never really change.
The third season of the show only returned to the Disney Channel in mid-March. So these episodes are releasing much quicker on Disney+ than usual for a Disney Channel show, since they don’t usually get added to Disney+ until a month or so after the season finale airs. Disney did something similar for the release of “Secrets of Sulphur Springs”. Disney also uses this release method in other countries like Australia and the UK, which don’t have Disney Channels any more.
The series stars actress and musician Ruth Righi as the title character Sydney, Ian Reed Kesler as Max, Caroline Rhea as Judy Reynolds (in both decades), Ava Kolker as Sydney’s best friend Olive, Jackson Dollinger as young Max and Christian J. Simon as young Max’s best friend, Leo.
Created by prolific Emmy Award-nominated writer, showrunner and executive producer Mark Reisman (“Frasier,” “The Exes,” “Wings”), “Sydney to the Max” is a production of It’s A Laugh Productions, Inc. It carries a TV-G parental guideline.
Both seasons 1 and 2 of “Sydney To The Max” are already available to watch on Disney+.
Are you looking forward to episodes from Season 3 arriving early on Disney+?
