Last week, Disney removed a number of titles in the US from Disney+ including “Garfield: The Movie” and “Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer”, plus the animated Disney classic, “The Sword in the Stone”.

The good news is that “The Sword in the Stone” has been restored to Disney+.

This isn’t the first title to be removed from Disney+ and quickly returned, as “Avalon High”, “Never Been Kissed” and “The Sandlot” also had temporary removals.

Disney hasn’t yet announced what titles will be removed in advance, though they did announce “The Sandlot” was returning at the start of February.   It’s also worth noting that it doesn’t seem to be effecting subscribers in other countries.   Existing contracts with other streaming companies like Starz and Fubo TV are causing some titles to be removed, like Garfield and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

Hopefully some of these issues will be sorted out soon, as a number of subscribers have contacted me asking why it was removed since they were still watching it and it disappeared.  The good news is that they’ve been able to pick up from the exact same spot they left it.

This was one of my sister’s favorites growing up. I decided to turn it on for her via that particular streaming service thanks to some fond memories I admittedly had of her mercilessly begging me to pop in the VHS copy for her that we had.
