The penultimate episode of the first season of the first live action Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, finally sees everything starting to come together, as Mando heads back to where it all started, with a few friends onboard to help.

This is an episode, where we get back to the original overarching story line about the Empire’s desire to get hold of “The Child” and the group must pull together to stop it happening.

Once again, we get plenty of action, including a camp fire scene that took me by surprise and lots of Imperial influence, that helps bring this series back into the Star Wars universe with a bang.

While this episode was a little slower and I was just waiting on the double cross, seeing the band all together is strangely satisfying, as up until now, everything felt so separate, which has been a complaint many people have been talking about.  Personally I’ve found this refreshing and now it all seems to be coming together.

Baby Yoda also really gets to shine in this episode, as it starts to flex its Force powers more and more, all while still looking so cute and adorable.

The shock ending left me sat with my mouth open, just wanting to watch the next episode but because this one dropped a couple of days early, we’ve gotta wait until after Christmas, until we find out what’s happened and the series comes to a close.   But the next episode can just blast straight into the story, because this episode set up all the pieces for what is hopefully an explosive finale.

Episode 7 is probably one of the best episodes of the series, because its been able to use the characters from previous episodes more effectively, we’ve had time to get to know each one of them, something we would never see in a traditional Star Wars movie.
