The latest episode of Star Wars: The Mandalorian picks up straight after the last episode, with Mando on a speeder bike heading across the Tatooine desert planet with “Baby Yoda” and Boba Fett’s armour on board.

As you might expect, not everything goes to plan and the episode kicks off with an encounter with some bounty hunters, which gave me a number of laughs, especially when one of them grabs hold of Mando’s jet pack.

This leads Mando onto his next mission, where he must ferry a passenger with precious cargo on a risky journey across the galaxy.  As you might expect, not everything goes to plan and we get to see this fantastic scene involving the Razor Crest trying to escape from two X-Wings (keep an eye on one of the pilots!).

There is little doubt that this episode follows the “Monster Of The Week” formula, with Mando once again struggling to deal with a huge monster, with a little help from his friends.  But I really enjoy this part of the show, we get to see Mando at his best, seem him struggling and beaten down, only to eventually get through by the skin of his teeth.  He isn’t a perfect hero, which is what makes him more interesting.

It’s also very noticeable that the visual effects in this season have been really beefed up, as there are much more CGI elements throughout the episode.  The creators are doing a fabulous job in making you feel like your watching a Star Wars movie, with some major action moments, while also delivering those smaller things that ground the show.

This episode was directed by Peyton Reed, who previously directed both Ant-Man movies and it probably explains why this episode had a few good laugh moments, especially involving “Baby Yoda” and the eggs.   For me, this humour made the episode so much more enjoyable since it brought some fun into the show.

Chapter 10 is another fantastic episode of “The Mandalorian” and I loved it, it’s full of action, full of adventure, a little hint of humour and lots of small Star Wars references.  A must watch.
