After 12 long years and a cancellation, the animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars finally gets its long awaited finale, plus it happens on Star Wars Day!  As with all of the episodes in this story arc, the action picks up exactly where the previous episode did.  With “Order 66” now activated, Ahsoka and Captain Rex are stuck in the medical bay, surrounded by Clone Troopers, with Darth Maul also free onboard to wreak havoc as a distraction for their escape.

The episode is jam packed with action, with both Darth Maul and Ahsoka Tano fighting with the Clone Troopers on many occasions.  However with Ahsoka unwilling to kil, which isn’t something Darth Maul has an issue with.

We get to see the Clone Troopers fully embrace their new orders, without any hesitation, regardless of their previous loyalty to Ahsoka.  Which is even more noticeable due to many of them wearing her colors.   This loyalty is even more difficult for Captain Rex, seeing him crying over the fact he has to fight with his “brothers” and seeing how conflicted he is.  It’s truly fantastic writing and leading up to the final couple of scenes, with them standing over the graves of fallen Clone Troopers really hits hard.  You can just feel that internal conflict within them and it’s so touching.

The final scene is fantastic, it’s giving me chills just thinking about it while writing this review.  It is so chilling, you know everything that’s happened, but the shock of the Snow Troopers and Storm Troopers, then the heavy breathing kicks in, which resulted in me having a real gasp.   It’s an amazing way of finishing off this show.

Once again the artwork in this episode is superb, you can see every small detail on the characters faces and bodies, their markings, even the brush strokes on the Clone Troopers armor. Especially in the final scene, which just looks stunning!   As with the previous episodes in this story arc, the music just kept giving me goosebumps.

Now that the final series of “The Clone Wars” is over, it’s hard to not look back at the past twelve episodes and think, I wish they had just released the four final episodes as an Disney+ Original movie.   The four episodes together would be an amazing movie and I’m sure more people would watch it.  The first eight episodes were just two random stories that hadn’t been included in previous episodes, but these final four episodes are just on a completely different level.

The Clone Wars finale did everything I could have wanted and delivered a fantastic experience.  I absolutely loved it.

I want so much to see in a series what Ahsoka Tano and Rex did after the events of Clone Wars Victory and Death: how Gregor and Wolffe had their chips removed, present in their heads used to trigger Order 66, and how they ended up with Rex on Seelos aboard an AT-TE; when and how Ahsoka met Bail Organa and Hera Syndulla; what Ahsoka did with his other lightsaber; what Barriss Offee has become: if she saw Ahsoka again and after having reconciled, sacrificed herself to save her life; Maul fighting Darth Vader; how Maul got his new lightsaber; if Ahsoka has seen Riyo Chuchi again. I so hope that Ahsoka Tano will appear in season 2 of The Mandalorian with Sabine Wren. If they're making a Star Wars movie or series about Ahsoka Tano, I so hope that the story of this character begins when she leaves the Jedi order, and that it is shown what she has become until 'at the events of Clone Wars Gone With A Trace: if after leaving the Jedi order, she reviewed Barriss Offee and spoke with her after discovering her betrayal, in order to reason with her and eventually reconcile. I would like to see in a series what Ahsoka did after being saved by Ezra Brider in Star Wars Rebels "A World Between Worlds" until she finds Sabine Wren to go to the research by Ezra Bridger "Family Reunion - and Farewell Part II". I look forward to seeing Ahsoka with Sabine on their quest to find Ezra Bridger. I want so much to see Ahsoka meet Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, the ghosts of the Force of Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda, and see Lux Bonteri as well as Trace and Rafa Martez. I would so much like to see Mace Windu in an episode of a TV series following Star Wars III Revenge of the Sith after his character survived his fall (as long as we are shown how the jedi master survived his fall after being sent out of the window by Darth Sidious), like Luke Skywalker, after Darth Vader cut off his right hand in Star Wars V The Empire Strikes Back. I wish Ahsoka Tano would become a Jedi again after Luke Skywalker's founding of the new Jedi order, as that would mean that her pain when she left the Jedi order during the Clone Wars is well healed. Indeed when she left the Jedi order, she was very upset because she had lost confidence in the Jedi who had not believed in her innocence (with the exception of her master Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi) even after they recognized their wrong and offered to reinstate her.
