Marvel has made an unexpected announcement during Disney+ Day, a brand new animated series called “Spider-Man: Freshman Year”.

This animated series follows Peter Parker on his way to becoming Spider-Man in the MCU, with a journey unlike we’ve ever seen and a style that celebrates the character’s early comic book roots.

The series is being executive produced by Jeff Trammel, who is also serving as head writer.

Very little is known about this new animated series, other than a logo and that’s coming to Disney+ at some point in the future.

One interesting thing about this animated series, it’s a prequel to “Captain America: Civil War”, so allows Spider-Man to continue to stay within the MCU, regardless of what happens in “Spider-Man: Far From Home”.

Are you excited for a brand new Spider-Man animated series?
