Following on from the massive success of “Venom” and “Venom: Let There Be Carnage”, plus a small cameo at the end of “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, it should be no surprise to see that a third film featuring the anti-hero is in development.

During Sony Pictures’ presentation at this week’s CinemaCon even, a third “Venom” film was teased during the closing CinemaCon reel, with just a logo shown to attendees.

No other details have yet been provided regarding what the third film will be about or when it will be released.

Tom Hardy plays Eddie Brock in the first two films, who is a journalist who is unwittingly merged with a symbiotic alien with lethal abilities.

The first “Venom” film pulled in over $800 million at the global box office, with the second film pulling in over $500 million globally, during the pandemic.

Due to a multi-year contract for the US Pay two window rights, any new Sony Pictures film being released between 2022 and 2026 will be available to Disney to distribute on Disney+, Hulu and traditional linear television channels, after a theatrical and pay one window release on Netflix.  So any new “Venom” film released within that period, will be eligible to come to Disney+ in the US for a limited period.
