Disney purchased “The Muppets” in 2004 and gained access to many great films and shows, however, Sony TriStar Pictures created three films featuring the Muppets, “The Muppets Take Manhattan“, “Kermit’s Swamp Years” and “Muppets In Space”.

With the news that Disney has signed a new deal with Sony Pictures that includes U.S. Rights to new Theatrical Releases from 2022-2026 following their Pay 1 TV Window and library titles from Sony Pictures for Disney’s Streaming Services including Disney+ and Hulu and Linear Networks such as ABC, FX and Freeform.

This opens up Disney+ in the United States to get access to three Muppets films created by Sony Pictures, though no release date has yet been announced. “Muppets In Space” and “Muppets Take Manhattan” are currently available to stream in the United States on Amazon Prime.

The Muppets Take Manhattan

Kermit’s Swamp Years
