Filming is currently underway on a sequel to the classic Halloween favourite,  “Hocus Pocus”, and more casting details have recently been revealed.

In this new Disney+ Original movie, three young women accidentally bring the Sanderson Sisters back to modern-day Salem and must figure out how to stop the child-hungry witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on the world.

Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy, are all returning to reprise their roles as the delightfully wicked Sanderson Sisters.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor Sam Richardson has joined the cast of the new Disney+ Original film.  He has previously starred in Amazon’s “The Tomorrow War”, the hit series “Veep” and “Ted Lasso”.

And according to The DisInsider, Tony Hale has also joined the film and will be playing the mayor of Salem Jefry Traske.  Tony Hale has most recently starred in the Disney+ Original series “The Mysterious Benedict Society” and “Forky Asks A Question”.

Anne Fletcher (The Proposal) is directing the movie, with Lynn Harris serving as producer. Executive producers include Adam Shankman, Ralph Winter and David Kirschner.  Jen D’Angelo wrote the screenplay.

“Hocus Pocus 2” is coming exclusively to Disney+ in 2022.  The original film is available to stream on Disney+.
