Disney has announced that “Reservation Dogs” will be coming soon to Disney+ in New Zealand. The first episode is being released on Wednesday 15th September, with new episodes released weekly. It won’t arrive on Disney+ in Australia for a while, as the show is released on Binge due to previous contracts for FX content.
Filmed on location in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Reservation Dogs is a breakthrough in Indigenous representation on television both in front of and behind the camera.
Executive produced by Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi, the comedy series follows the exploits of four Indigenous teenagers in rural Oklahoma who steal, rob and save in order to get to the exotic, mysterious and faraway land of California. The show’s first-of-its-kind Indigenous creative team invites audiences into a surprisingly familiar and funny world.
The series is currently being released on Hulu in the United States and now, Disney recently announced that the series will be coming to Disney+ in Canada on Wednesday’s from September 1st as a Star Original. The series hasn’t got a release date for the UK, but will be coming soon.
