One of the most annoying aspects to Disney+ in the United States is that some movies haven’t been added to the streaming service due to pre-existing contracts.  Even more annoying is when a film was added to Disney+, only for it to be later removed, again down to pre-existing contracts.

Before Disney+ launched in the United States, Disney made an agreement with the “Starz” streaming service, to allow some Disney titles to be shared between “Starz” and Disney+.  Part of this deal was that a “Starz” advert would be placed on the Disney+ signup page.

Recently, I was sent some information by a reliable source, that showed some expiring dates, which could potentially indicate when some Disney films will be leaving Starz in the United States.

Many of these titles are already available on Disney+, but there are a few titles that have already been available in other countries such as the UK, Canada and Australia when Disney+ originally launched.

These dates indicate when these films expire on Starz, not necessarily when they are going to be added to Disney+ in the US.

  • Inside Out – 5th October 2021 – (SHARED WITH DISNEY+)
  • Monkey Kingdom – 4th June 2021 – (SHARED WITH DISNEY+)
  • Strange Magic – 4th June 2021
  • Big Hero 6 – 4th June 2021 – (SHARED WITH DISNEY+)
  • Alexander and the Terrible Horrible – – 4th June 2021 – (SHARED WITH DISNEY+)
  • Million Dollar Arm – 20th September 2021
  • Into The Woods – 27th June 2021 – (SHARED WITH DISNEY+)
  • Frozen – – 4th June 2021 – (SHARED WITH DISNEY+)
  • Monsters University – – 4th June 2021  – (SHARED WITH DISNEY+)
  • Planes – – 4th June 2021 – (SHARED WITH DISNEY+)
  • The Sandlot 2 – 30th June 2021
  • Flicka: Country Pride – 30th April 2022
  • Pirates Of The Caribbean – On Stranger Tides – 4th September 2021
  • Amelia – 30th September 2021
  • 500 Days Of Summer – 30th April 2021
  • Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer – 30th April 2021
  • Millions – 30th April 2022
  • Ice Age – 30th September 2021
  • Never Been Kissed – 31st October 2021
  • Thumbelina – 30th September 2021
  • Rookie Of The Year – 30th June 2021
  • Edward Scissorhands – 31st August 2021

There are some titles on this list that have already been on Disney+, including “Millions” and “Never Been Kissed”, which were then removed.

Some of these titles that are scheduled to leave in April 2021, such as “Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer”, have also been officially announced to be leaving Starz on those dates.

It’s important to state; this information should be taken as a guideline and don’t indicate a Disney+ release date.

Are you looking forward to seeing any of these Disney owned titles on Disney+?

Still don't know who owns the streaming rights for Enchanted or Oz The Great and Powerful. They have yet to been ever added to Disney+ and I'd like to see them added, ESPECIALLY since Enchanted is getting a D+-exclusive sequel!
