Earlier this year, it was reported that Disney had begun work on a new animated series based on Oswald The Lucky Rabbit. This series was in development for a long time, but much like the “Legend of the Three Caballeros,” series, which has been held back for a released on Disney+.

The show has been created by the “Disney Digital Network/Disney Interactive” division, rather than the Disney TV Animation division, which create most of the shows on the Disney Channel.

Oswald The Lucky Rabbit was one of Walt Disney’s original creations from 1920’s, but due to a contract issue, the character belonged to Ub Iwerks and Universal, until 2006 when Disney CEO Bob Iger was able to gain the rights to the character for Disney.  The character has been featured in a number of different projects such as the Epic Mickey 2 video game and as a meet & greet character at the theme parks.

And now more details on this series have come to light as recently revealed that according to Christopher Painter’s online resume has confirmed to be a writer on the Oswald Show.

Natalie Venus De Hull, who is a demo vocalist, also posted on her Linkedin profile that she worked on an Oswald series back in 2013.   And with rumors of this series floating around for a while, there are lots of signs that this series is coming soon.

And Shaughn Kennedy, who is a Chief Engineer/ Associate Producer at Jones TV, also shared on Linkedin that she has worked with Disney to produce Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.

This information then looked to be confirmed when voice actor Eric Bauza replied to a tweet:

Could you imaaaaagine!?!?! ??

Eric Bauza has worked on a number of animated series including Disney shows: Legend of the Three Caballeros, Star Wars Resistance, Muppet Babies, Ducktales and many others.

There was also some further interaction from Eric on Twitter, including Niki Lytton, who also worked on Muppet Babies and Legend of the Three Caballeros, when she retweeted with the words:

Hmm.

With people working within Disney openly talking about the series on Twitter and Linkedin, hopefully we will get official confirmation on this new Oswald animated series soon.

Are you excited for a new series featuring Oswald?
