“Only Murders In The Building” Season 5 Begins Production
One of the most successful comedy shows from the past few years is 20th Television’s “Only Murders In The Building”, which follows three strangers who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one.
Production on the fifth season of “Only Murders In The Building” has started this week and sees Steve Martin, Martin Short, Selena Gomez and Michael Cyril Creighton return.
Also set to star in the fifth season is Keegan-Michael Key, who has previously starred in Hulu’s “Reboot”, Paramount+ Original “Dear Santa”, along with “Transformers One” and “Super Mario Bros”. No character details for Keegan-Michael have been revealed by Deadline.
No plot details for the fifth season have been revealed, but it’s expected to pick up the storyline of the death of the Arconia’s doorman, Lester, played by Teddy Coluca, which happened in the season four finale.
In the previous four seasons, we’ve seen plenty of big-name guest stars appear on the show, including Sting, Cara Delevingne, Jane Lynch, Meryl Streep, Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria, Zach Galifianakis, Paul Rudd, Kumail Nanjiani, Melissa McCarthy, Jimmy Fallon, and many others.
“Only Murders in the Building” hails from co-creators and writers Steve Martin and John Hoffman (“Grace & Frankie,” “Looking”). Martin and Hoffman executive produce along with Martin Short, Selena Gomez, “This Is Us” creator Dan Fogelman and Jess Rosenthal.
No release details have been announced, but we’ve previously seen 20th Television turn these shows around pretty quickly, with an annual release, so I’d expect to see the fifth season arrive on Hulu and Disney+ later this year.
All four seasons of “Only Murders In The Building” are available to stream now on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ around the world.
