One of the many 20th Century Studios franchises that Disney has been looking to utilise is “The Predator”. Some new details have been revealed this week on the next instalment in the series, which will follow the original Predator’s first journey to Earth.
During a recent interview with Collider, while promoting the “Jungle Cruise”, producers John Davis and John Fox , gave an update on the upcoming Predator film that they are also producing.
The next Predator film will be called “Skull” and will have a female hero, which John Davis said was interesting. He also added:
“It goes back to what made the original Predator movie work. It’s the ingenuity of a human being who won’t give up, who’s able to observe and interpret, basically being able to beat a stronger, more powerful, well-armed force.
With John Fox added:
“It actually has more akin to The Revenant than it does any film in the Predator canon. You’ll know what I mean once you see it. You can use your imagination. It is… early.”
“Skull” will be directed by Dan Trachtenberg and has been written by Patrick Aison. Filming is currently set to finish in August.
No other details about the film have yet been officially revealed. During a recent lawsuit about the ownership of the Predator franchise, it was revealed that the film would be coming directly to Hulu in the United States and internationally on Disney+.
Many of the Predator films are already available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney+ internationally.
