New Horror Comedy “Carved” Coming Soon To Hulu & Disney+
A brand new horror comedy film is set to hit Hulu and Disney+ soon, as Deadline has revealed that filming has recently wrapped on “Carved”, which is about a heartbroken teenage playwright, her younger brother, and a group of survivors who become trapped in a historical reenactment village on Halloween night and must band together to survive a relentless attack by a sentient and vengeful pumpkin.
It will star Peyton Elizabeth Lee, who has appeared in many Disney+ Originals, including “Prom Pact”, “Secret Society Of Second Born Royals” and “Doogie Kamealoha MD”.
Also starring in the film are Corey Fogelmanis (Ma), Wyatt Lindner (Titans), Carla Jimenez (The Mick), Sasha Mason (Ozark), Jonah Lees (The Phantom of the Open), DJ Qualls (The New Guy), Marc Sully Saint-Fleur (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Elvis Nolasco (Godfather of Harlem), Matty Cardarople (Stranger Things), Jackson Kelly (Chucky), and Chris Elliott (Schitt’s Creek).
“Carved” has been created and directed by Justin Harding and is based on a script by Cheryl Meyer. The film is based on the 2018 short of the same name, which was originally released on Hulu as part of its Bite-Size Halloween program.
This is the first movie to be released as part of of WorthenBrooks’ overall deal, a production company that was originally known as 20th Digital. The film has been produced by David Brooks, Debbie Liebling, Arbi Pedrossian, and Jenna Cavelle. Miles Alva serves as an executive producer, and Lorne Raimi, Alex Hansen, and Nick Page co-produce.
“Carved” will be released later this year on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ internationally.
Roger’s Take: This looks like an interesting step for Peyton as she starts to make that awkward transition from a Disney child actor into an adult role, so a horror comedy movie could be a good step in letting her try her hand at something more grownup. As a pure guess, I’d assume this film will arrive on the streaming service in time for the Halloween season.
