New British Disney+ Original “Playdate” Going Into Production
Disney has many new original programs in development for Disney+ across the United Kingdom and Europe, including the recent hit “Wedding Season” and the upcoming British comedy series, “Extraordinary”.
According to Production Weekly, a new mystery/thriller series called “Playdate” is going into pre-production in the United Kingdom in April 2023.
The new series is going to be produced by James Dean and is going to be created by Quay Street Productions, who are an independent production company set up by award-winning producer Nicola Shindler in 2021 to make contemporary, provocative, entertaining, and engaging drama for U.K. and global audiences. The production company is based in Manchester. Quay Street Productions puts writers and talent at the centre of the production process. Welcoming voices from all different backgrounds, Quay Street Productions promotes a diversity of storytelling, working with new and established writers. Quay Street wants to create a compelling and original drama, bringing audiences a ‘must-watch’ television series.
The team have previously worked on “Significant Other” and the upcoming project, “Nolly”.
No other details on “Playdate” have been revealed, and Disney hasn’t officially announced the series, but hopefully more details will be revealed soon.
