It has been revealed that Murray Bartlett has joined the upcoming 20th Television series, “Immigrant”. This brand new eight-episode, limited series will be released on Hulu in the United States and on Disney+ internationally.
The series tells the true story of Somen “Steve” Banerjee (played by Kumail Nanjiani), the Indian-American entrepreneur who started Chippendales.
According to Variety, Murray Bartlett will be playing the part of producer-choreographer Nick De Noia, who is described as a charming, fast-talking New Yorker who sees himself as God’s gift to entertainment. While regularly indulging in his loves of drinking, drugs, women and men, he helped Banerjee take the Chippendales from a seedy West LA venture to the global popularity it eventually reached.
Murray has previously starred in HBO’s “The White Lotus” and Netflix’s “Tales Of The City”.
Kumail Nanjiani also confirmed the casting on social media.
This new series is being written, executive produced and co-showrun by Robert Siegel, who has also worked on the upcoming Hulu/Star Original series “Pam & Tommy”, which is coming next month to Hulu in the US and to Disney+ internationally.
“Immigrant” is due to arrive on Hulu and internationally on Disney+ in 2022.
