The nominees for this years NAACP Image Awards have been announced and many Disney+ titles have picked up nominations including “Hamilton”, “Black Is King” and “Soul”.

Pixar’s Soul picked up 11 different nominations, including “Best Animated Motion Picture”, “Best Ensemble Cast”, “Best Writing” and more.

With Beyonce’s Black Is King picking up nominations for “Outstanding Variety Show (Series or Special)”, with Beyonce picking up a further 6 nominations for songs and music videos from the special including  “Outstanding Visual Album — Black Is King “.

Hamilton also picked up four nominations including Outstanding Television Movie, Limited–Series or Dramatic Special.

Other Disney shows also picked up some nominations for shows including ABC’s Black-ish which was the most-nominated series, with 11 nominations, along with Pixar’s Onward, Disney Channel’s Raven’s Home,  Disney Junior’s Doc McStuffins, Hulu’s Little Fires Everywhere, America’s Funniest Home Videos, Fox’s 9-11, FX’s The New York Times Presents “The Killing of Breonna Taylor” and many more.

The 52nd NAACP Image Awards will air on BET Saturday, March 27th 2021, at 8:00 PM ET. Non-televised award categories will live stream over five nights March 22-26, 2021. The virtual ceremonies will recognize winners in more than 60 non-televised award categories in the fields of television and streaming, music, literature, film, and activism.
