Some new merchandise has revealed new details on the upcoming Disney+ Original series “Ms Marvel” at Pyramid International , which has indicated that the characters’ powers will be a little different to how they are in the comic books.

The new poster shows that instead of having a super stretchy shape-shifting superpower, she now makes a purple energy version instead, similar to the Green Lantern.  The poster is called “Crystal Smash”, which could also indicate how her powers work.  It also gives us a nice clear look at what Iman Vellani will look like as Ms Marvel.

It’s expected that Ms Marvel is going to have a different origin from the comic books, where she was an Inhuman.  While Marvel has previously introduced Inhumans in “Agents Of Shield” and the “Inhuman” series, they’re not considered part of the MCU canon, so they could be looking to reintroduce the Inhumans or just skip them altogether.

Marvel Studios has changed many aspects of characters from the comic book. This marks one of the most significant changes so far.

Another image of some badges could also give us an idea of what the new Disney+ series will include:

Originally, “Ms Marvel” was going to be released on Disney+ this year, but has been delayed until 2022.  The character will also appear in the “Captain Marvel” sequel “The Marvels”, which will arrive in cinemas on 17th February 2023.

What do you think of Marvel changing Ms Marvel’s superpowers?

If they changed her inhuman origins, I'm out. It would be the first MCU project I skip.
