Ahead of the release of Pixar’s new film, “Turning Red” on Disney+, Mozilla has announced a new “True Colors” campaign. It’s a new initiative to create and amplify spaces online for users to celebrate their authentic selves.

Mozilla – the not-for-profit software company, best known for super customizable and personalized products like its web browser Firefox – has been building something pretty special for the rollout of Pixar’s first animated feature with an Asian protagonist.

  • U.S.-based fans of the film can visit truecolors.firefox.com to activate official Turning Red-inspired Colorways, available exclusively in Firefox for desktop through April 30, 2022.

  • Firefox users who visit the “True Colors” campaign landing page will be able to modify how their web browser looks, with colors and moods inspired by some of the main characters in the film, including: That’s So Fine orange for Mei Lee; Rawrrr! red for the Panda; Vegging Out green for Miriam; Cheese Puff yellow for Priya; Bob-dot-com purple for Abby; and Chillaxing blue for Ming Lee, Mei’s mother.

  • The interactive “True Colors” campaign landing page will feature commissioned original animations by Helen Li, an Asian-American woman illustrator.

  • Fans of the film are also invited to enjoy a variety of fun experiences like a boy band name generator, panda dance party, interactive stickers, and more, all to help you express joy while you surf the web. There will also be a “DO NOT PUSH” button which will create a magic <<POOF!>> on the page, just like what happens to Mei in the film when she transforms into the Panda (fun fact: a red panda is also known as a fire fox!)

  • A curated collection of articles inspired by Turning Red around the theme of helping kids manage big feelings will be promoted in Pocket, Pocket Hits newsletter (4M impressions) and Firefox New Tab (50M impressions).

  • A sweepstakes to win a free month of Disney+ for 500 randomly selected winners, will be promoted in ads and on our social media channels. For official rules for the sweepstakes, which will run from February 15-March 11, 2022, please visit: truecolors.firefox.com

  • Content Creators will share their stories about expressing their true colors and promoting Firefox and the movie, using #MyTrueColors

  • A special hero video that was created with the Disney and Pixar animation team will be published. The video encourages people to show their True Colors online with their Firefox browser.
